Is anyone cringing at the sight of their credit card bill? One of the reasons mine is so high right now is because I have been paying for grad school because I haven't taken out any loans. Either way, I'm getting anxiety over here Anyone else feeling this way? I need to win the lottery!

are you paying your balance off in full each month? the interest rate on a credit card is likely to be ~ 18% while even the highest school loans would probably be 5-8% interest. you might be better off looking at alternatives for the school tuition

Well my credit card has no interest fees til Feb so luckily I haven't been paying any fees on it.
FH and I just bought our first place last year, otherwise this wouldn't be an issue right now and my CC would be nothing instead of what it is. I'm happy we own something, but still hate having this CC debt. Hopefully with the wedding money we get I can pay it off and still have some money left.

Re: Credit Cards suck
I think there was one time ever in my credit card holding lifetime that I let a balance carry over to the next month. I make sure to pay off my monthly statement in full, but I never charged my school, just took out loans. I hate credit cards lol.

Wish I could do that but I can't. Like I said, we bought a place so I'm glad we own something, it just ***** trying to pay off this HUGE amount ugh. I'm hoping to pay it off with the wedding money we will get and then have some money left over after.

Re: Credit Cards suck
CCs really do stink big time! I had messed up my credit at one point (why do they give CCs to 18 yr olds?!?) and so I've pretty much paid off all my debt, except for student loans. So, I'm strictly cash only now. And with us paying for this wedding on our own, cash only is tough! But at some point I'll have to s*ck it up and get another CC to try to rebuild my credit. So everyone out there...be careful with those pieces of plastic!!!

Re: Credit Cards suck
I'm hoping the school thing is worth it in the end. FH is basically bring in a mortgage-sized debt from medical school. I don't even want to think about what would have happened if I didn't have a scholarship. What is really frustrating is when ppl keep tell us how much $$ we will have. Yeah, except now we don't make any money and we're 200G in debt. Grrr....

Re: Credit Cards suck
FH lost his job two weeks ago, on top of us having to shell out $3K for various car things and regular bills. My credit card is more debt than we both owe for everything else combined. I'm having daily anxiety because of it.

Re: Credit Cards suck
i would transfer it..but i feel i have so many cards already...i have my macys one ( which is mostly for xmas gifts and such-i pay it off in full) a victorias secret one ( which i only use when they have sales-again i pay it off in full) my davids bridal one ( i charged my dress but will cancel when the wedding is over with) and my capital one...thats the problem one. My interest rate HAS gone down tho b/c i always pay my bill..even if only the minimum so its at like 12% not too bad for a cc. But i feel like another cc would be too much.

I'm so sorry to hear about your FH losing his job.
Don't worry though about the cc, I know how the anxiety feels, don't worry i'm right there with you

Re: Credit Cards suck
These cc companies are sooooo sneaky . If you consistently check your statements and read EVERY little word on yout statement you'll prob catch many charges that you can dispute.
