Credit Report and Mortgage Process Question

Credit Report and Mortgage Process Question

So FH and I just refinanced our mortgage through our bank. The first time we got our mortgage through a mortgage broker who was awesome. Anyway, this time we did it on our own and so here's my situation. We paid $44 total for two separate credit reports - fine. Now we called the bank to get a copy of the reports and they told us no. They said it was their policy not to give it out and suggested that we order a copy through the various agencies out there. Hello! I just paid for one for you to use - why should I not be entitled to a copy?

So....first am I really not entitled to a copy and second how would you suggest I persue this if I am entitled?

Thanks!

You aren't entitled. The bank was the one that 'ordered' the report, regardless of who paid.

If you want to see your credit report to yourself, i would suggest ordering a copy for yourself.

theres also a whole slew of websites that will let you check your credit report for free. I always see commercials for this one on TV:

Credit Report

I've never used it myself, but maybe it's worth a shot to check it out
