Re: credit score
Here's a tip, if you run your credit and there is a lateness, you should try to dispute it because if the company doesn't have proof of the lateness it will get taken off. I did that once

well its also other things, not just credit cards, like owning things, a house, car, business, boat whatever lol.
Yeah if you're late just ONE time they take off ALOT of points.
oh def!!! cause i just remembered something that happened...
one of my stupid student loan co's (before consolidating) never sent me a new payment booklet even though i requested one about 6 times and then sent me a notice about being late and wouldnt fix it.. and i wasnt paying it because i was unsure if i was supposed to because there was a time before that that after paying they put it in deferment and told me i didn thave to pay on it (but i still did)
it pissed me off too because i was never late previously AND always paid extra on it..
the stupid things that can screw up your credit

Re: credit score
Hi, I'm with Coach Realtors.
Yes, it's an 850 being the highest.
700 and something is still good. We own a house and have both always paid all of our bills in full and on time and our scores are only in the high 700's. Can never seem to make the 800 mark LOL.
Don't forget you can also buy down your points. There is so many different ways of creative financing these days just no interest only loans please! I see too many forclosures going that route.
Your score may also be low if you have ALOT of open credit on your cards that actually works against you. If you ever notice credit card companies almost every year love to add more open credit to your cards so just stay on top of that. Once a year for $5 you can run your credit report I believe w/experian and you can view all of your accounts. With fraud and all it's also a good tool to use every year to just check to make sure everything is safe & sound. Good Luck!!

Re: credit score
If you have a WAMU (Washington mutual) credit card, you can see your score at any time. It's on the payment screen on their website.

Re: credit score
That's great if it's always there! Those other one's like I mentioned Experian etc only do once a year b/c they take a point off your credit everytime your credit is run.
