Just wondering as far as your credit rating goes....
I have several credit cards, most which I hardly use and pay off right away. Will canceling them hurt or help my credit score?
If I have credit cards, will using them and paying them off right way improve my credit score or hurt it?

DON'T CANCEL!! A history of good accounts showing length and good payments are a good thing! Keeping the ones you have and paying them off is also good, shows you are not carrying a balance and reflects upon your payment history. A good history is better then no history. Having no credit is just as bad as having bad credit

If you have a LOT I would cancel some, because having these cards in your name is just more of your credit that is extended. If you have 2 or 3 cards, keep them - but if you have more than 4 or 5 I would cancel some, it will not hurt your credit.

i was told to cancel the store credit cards such as macys, best buy, fortunoff etc.
