Creeped out, hating my LIW user name!

So I wasn't thinking when I signed up for this site in that I used, is the same user name I use for EVERYTHING, my popular email address and AIM name, etc. since like 1997 when I loved the band Blur and lived in NY.

Well, I was just updating some photos on the web page I made on here and some guy left me a random message on my guest book! I think he was an epal of mine YEARS ago, he must have searched my user name.

I am so freaked out right now. I feel like I should delete everything.

Thanks! I just messaged them. I'm hoping it won't knock out my wedding web page, etc. I mean it's like myspace in that the link created has your user name IN it

That's what Jess said, but seriously - I can't imagine they can change your user name from the wedding web page, it's right there in the URL. Maybe they can. Ugh, wah wah! I'm dying now. Ha ha!

I just contacted liweddings and asked to change my name. I know a lot of girls have done it.

I know! It's so annoying. And even when you delete something, it STILL shows up. Like I wrote an article for a web site and even though they pulled my name off of the article, it STILL showed up over and over again - it was so humiliating.

They have done it. I wonder if people will still be able to see our old posts with the old username though. Google really ***** a$$. they make it REAL EASY for stalkers.

Yikes! that stinks. They really need to figure out better security on the internet. Its just ridiculous.

I changed my username the week I registered -- it wasn't the same name I use for everything but similar enough for people to figure out who I was. People who know me can probably figure out who I am even now, but FM me if you want details on my situation

Edit: as a sidenote it's also not good to use the same pw for everything, even though I used to do that as well

yeah I started alternating my passwords.

Everyone says that! My friends will say 'do I email you at bluegirl' - Ha ha! I don't even really like that band much anymore and it's like my name for everything. Ha ha!

theres a facebook scam floating around on the internet and someone posted it on one fo the gossip sites i occasionally read -- i was distracted and didn't notice the difference although i catch these things with ebay all the time. basically someone wrote something like 'omg I can't believe people post pix like this on facebook! [link]' and then the link looks like the fbook screen, so i entered my username and password and as soon as i did, i realized it was a fishing website where they steal your info.

I freaked out and immediately changed my fbook password, but the e-mail address i use for facebook (my school e-mail that i use for everything with 5000+ old messages archived) had the same password --- and i stressed out all weekend until Monday when my law school could tell me how to change our passwords for the system...

i always get a ton of ebay scam emails too... when in doubt, always open up a new window of ebay, facebook, etc and then log in.
