I am thinking about booking the Crescent Beach Club and there are many great reviews about the food, ambiance and people on this site. I am a little concerned because my interactions with the staff to date have been a bit unfriendly. Has anyone else experienced this?
I really like the place, but I don't want to have issues or concerns that they say 'no' to every slightly different request or question I have.
I appreciate any responses from people who had similar situations or if they are nicer as your planning goes on.

Re: Crescent Beach Club question
I am working with them and they have been GREAT so far. The answer all my questions over the phone friendly and I haven't heard no yet. I haven't had my wedding yet so I can't tell you about the service the day of but they have excellent reviews. I am meeting with them on August 2nd to finalize things so I will let you know how it goes then.

Re: Crescent Beach Club question
I had gone with my friend to look there for her wedding, and we met with an older man, and was not that nice, he was very pompous and full of himself. I dont think he was the owner because im sure the owner wouldnt act like that, but he made it out that he owned the whole place
Who knows if he is still there this was last year

Re: Crescent Beach Club question
ok SOOOOO jealous because this is the place of my dreams, but way out of my budget- How are you affording this place???? when i called she told me $195 a person for a saturday night and like $160 a person for a friday night. (before tax) did you ladies get around the same price quotes???
and my friend went to go look at it and said the guy she saw was pretty rude and abbrasive- they said he asked him to call him Uncle...

Re: Crescent Beach Club question
I guess it's just a matter of how different personalities mesh, but so far I haven't had any complaints about the staff there. Hopefully, that won't change as my date gets closer. They've answered all of my questions promptly -- both by phone and e-mail -- and have been very accommodating with special requests.

Re: Crescent Beach Club question
to be completly honest the reason i didnt book with them was because of their customer service. Everyone (that would actually talk to us) seemed to up on thier high horse to talk nicely. I was ridiculed for being early when i told them i was coming from out of state (I said i would wait and look through mags) THEN i was scolded for not returning her call to verify i was coming. HELLO told you i was coming from out of state! how am i supposed to get the call? and it got worse and worse from there... maybe they didnt want my money? i dunno. I wasnt impresssed with the poeple.
the sad part is this was my first choice all along... i was dissapointed, the poeple ruined it for me and FH :(

Re: Crescent Beach Club question
Really? Oh that makes me sad... we went to look at it even though we knew it was out of our price range bc I grew up in Bayville and always wanted to get married there.
We met with a woman, I forget her name, but she was soooo helpful and gave us a bunch of options to help us save money.
It was still too much $$ for us but she was really nice and sent a personalized letter to us a few days after.

Re: Crescent Beach Club question
I looked at this place and let me tell you its beautiful but THE STAFF WERE HORRIBLE TO ME!!!! I'd rather have a good staff attending to my every need and wants when I go to the place to book so I know I will have a peace of mind on my wedding day then to be scared of them ruining my wedding day. There are so much other nicer, friendlier, places on the water to get married, its just not worth it when you have a horrible staff, that out weights the beauty of the place. I would look around if I were you.

Re: Crescent Beach Club question
actually, i went to check it out and because of the staff i will never book my wedding there. i met with the 'older' man who referred himself to me and my fiancee as 'uncle' which i was totally turned off by. he totally reminded me of a dirty used car salesman and because of my experience with him, i will never book there. i can't imagine seeing him on my wedding day! my fiancee was contemplating calling him back and telling him that he forfeited our business because of his terrible sales pitch!

Re: Crescent Beach Club question
I looked at the Crescent and one of the managers there was extremely nice. He showed me around without an appt. and stayed late to go over pricing and menu. I think it is the prettiest place to get married on long island the only reason I didnt book is bc my future sister and future brother in law are getting married there this October and we didnt want to have the same place. Also an older aunt of mine who has been to a ton of weddings in her life time went there a few months ago and said it was the best wedding shed ever been to. I wouldn't worry. I hope that helps.

Re: Crescent Beach Club question
wow! honestly i am so surprised to hear ANY negative feedback about CBC.
the only problem we had there was... our wedding had to end!
we worked with denise who was an absolute doll from the moment we walked in. she always greeted us with a hug and we never had a problem with any requests that we had for her!
even when picking our menu, we didn't love all of the choices and she let us make up some of our own choices like salmon oreganata.. and even threw in pizza for our bridal suite since DH was SET on pizza and i didn't want that as a passed around appetizer since IMO you can eat pizza any day! there were so many extras thrown in...
please please please don't base your opinions about CBC based on ONE negative experience from people who have not had their weddings there!
i am SURE my other 07 CBC brides will back me up on this
