Ok so I decided to start this because I am so excited about booking there. I am seeing more and more brides from there so I figured we could talk here. What has everyone done yet and who have you met with? I am meeting with Duet tomorrow morning. I have an appointment with LA Blossom and thats pretty much it so far

Re: Crescent Beach club thread
I just got married there last month. The vendors I used are all in my review on the review board. Hope that helps a bit. It's funny because when I booked the Crescent there was only one other B2B, and now there seem to be quite a few. Good luck!

I haven't booked anything else yet (except the church), so I'm anxious to hear of other Crescent brides' progress. When I met with Denise yesterday, I mentioned Duet because they're so well-thought of on LIW - but she said she'd give me recommendations - - - which I took as her way of politely not recommending them. I'll see who she recommends, but I plan to meet with Duet as one of my first choices - just based on public opinion...

I saw your review and loved it! The pics were amazing. I know some people have had problems with them but they have been fine with me and I love the place.

I didn't use a single vendor from their list. FYI, most receptions halls get a commission when you use their recomended vendors.

I assumed that was the case....I expect her to try to guide me toward her select group - but I certainly don't expect to use her guidance as the bible. Not too mention that I've worked with many of their vendors on the website - and I know that they're unreasonably priced!

Re: Crescent Beach club thread
sorry, well dennis gives me two 'jobs' to do at a time. So today she told me to find a rabbi for the ceremony and book a dj. Now i can take as long as i want with this and she gives me suggestions if i need it. I thought they did this with everyone. She said its to help me along and get things done this way i dont feel overwhelmed. I personally like it. Of course I can do whatever i want like for instance tomorrow I am meeting with duet photography.

I am excited about this thread!!! Denise did the same to me. She told me that I had to do my music and officiant now. I just booked my music this weekend. I booked the Original Faze 4. I haven't done much else. I also booked Andre to play at the cocktail hour.

One thing I didn't inquire about was a tasting of the menu options. Do we get one? I know I have enough time......

I was told when I booked that we got a tasting, but actually you just get a tasting of some of the CH stuff. If you want to taste some real food you have to eat in the restaurant, and you have to pay. DH and I never wound up having a tasting because driving out there from White Plains, where we live, was too big of a trip just for some appetizers. The food was excellent and I strongly suggest you have the Chilean sea bass as one of your options, it was out of this world.

Thanks so much!! Coincidentally, friends of our as taking us there this Sunday for brunch to celebrate their anniversary---FI was their best man 7 years ago. I plan to eat as much as possible. The sea bass was already a leading choice - I'll make sure to include it!!

wait- are you guys 2006 or is that a typo? JMO don't book so many things so fast it gets really boring waiting around for the day to come. Take it from me Im basically done 8 months away and I am wishing it was tomorrow already.

You've proven me right (in my own mind). I told my family and friends that I don't even want to begin to dress shop until the summer - and I've committed that I won't seek out vendors until then as well. That way, I have between now and then to consider what I want out of the day - so I'm better prepared to seek everything out.

Re: Crescent Beach club thread
Hi everyone. I know some people think it is better to wait but heres a little advice. I really really wanted duet as our photographer.videographer. So we met with them last night and they were awsome! They were also almost completely booked for july and had a few bookings for aug 2006!! I couldnt believe it. If i would have waited until next year i probably wouldnt of been able to book them. Also I paid the price for 2004 and i put down a deposit and i do not have to make another payment until 2006! Hope this helps eveyone who might be unsure of when to book.

I am not taking the chance with waiting.. the band I wanted was already booking up. They only had one weekend left in June 2006. I spoke with a wedding planner once and she told me that if you have an 2006 wedding and there are things you know for sure that you want to try and book before Jan '05 since between Thanksgiving and New Years most people get engaged and then they will be getting married in '06 and start planning. I dont think this applies for dresses, limos and flowers, but things like venues, music and photos. It makes sense to me.
