CRESCENT BRIDES - MAJOR DETOUR on way to Crescent CLOSES Bayville Bridge!!!

I'm trying to get details on how long it will last, but I am NOT happy. I had maps made and EVERYTHING, and I just heard from someone who was at a wedding over the weekend at the Crescent that this detour is on windy roads and adds a HALF HOUR to the ride to the Crescent! Plus, the wedding she was at, the bus that had the parents of the bride and guests from the hotel ended up being a HALF HOUR LATE for the cocktail hour because it got lost with the detour!!

I'm FREAKING OUT! I had MAPS MADE especially for my guests to bring them directly to the Crescent, and now that road is closed for NASSAU COUNTY construction!!!

they are going to have to go through glen cove. it is not that bad - call the crescent and they will give u directions via the backroads.
it is only a few minutes out of the way.

yeah- they do construction in the fall/winter on the bridge, cause the traffic is not as heavy!!!

although I just heard it's only through the month of October... maybe through Oct. 26th? I'm trying to get more details... I HOPE it's done by our weddings!!!

We are having our rehearsal dinner in Centre Island on 10/27 so I understand your concern. According to the sign the bridge should be completed by Friday, October 26. Now keep in mind Bayville has a huge haunted house halloween thing going on so they are gonna try and make SURE its finished in time for Halloween weekend. You should be fine by the second weekend of November.
Just in case, give Crescent a call and see what they have to say.

Awww, Sarah - that just STINKS! Like you need to deal with THAT crap! Perhaps when you get revised directions from the hall, you can simply email them to your guests. Good luck!

Okay... the guy from Nassau County just called me back. The bridge will be opened as of this Friday, but there still will be work to be done. There may be temporary closures, but not full day or week closures! Wahoo!!!
