CRESCENT BRIDES - TIPPING

Okay... so we're paying for gratuity, already included. I'm trying to budget how much CASH I'll need for the day of the wedding. I heard that the Crescent expects a $1200 additional 'tip' the day of. After I had my heart attack, I started towonder if that amount includes the waiters, bartenders, valet, maitre d', etc. I just don't think $1200 should go to ONE person as a tip on top of TIP!

Help! Past Crescent Brides... can you please tell me (by FM, if you want) what you tipped that day?

I was trying to figure this out too... I wasn't sure who else would get it, let me know what you find out!

I know the 1200 is split between the four people, but I don't know what else is expected!

I think it is between the 4...that's how my friends worked back in September at her wedding....i am so know that at my place they told me that the 1200 would be split between the BM, Martre D, and the bar tenders..I think? not sure if this was helpful?

OMG! MY worst nightmare... I didn't know anyone actually DID this! That is in bad taste. We're spending a LOT of money there... no one who has their wedding there is 'cheap!'. Heck, no one who has a wedding on Long Island these days is cheap! We don't even have a choice!

I'm getting sick at how much to tip everyone... and that 1200 amount isn't helping!

I think that's absurd. Really..come on. It's a gratuity..

Jeez, I'm going to ask my boss to give me an extra $300/day just for working.

I'm going to apply for a job there. I could make $900 cash per weekend on top of my day job!

Personally my bro said to just forget it b/c they were married & had a wonderful day otherwise & were leaving for their hm & just let it go. I would have been so pissed. My SIL was really upset & personally thought 100. was a nice tip (this was 5 yrs ago & they tipped everyone else)

When I went to the Crescent last week to book, they also told me they expect $1200 for tips. I was shocked! She said to divde the $1200 up among the maitre'd, the bridal attendent and I think 2 captains. I know she def. said that amount is divided up amongst 4 people and not just $1200 to one person. HTH.

I guess they run a tight ship! I have no idea what a captain is I was too shocked to ask, but I'm sure I'll find out as the day gets closer. I think a captian maybe people in charge of the wait staff, which I though a maitre'd was. I think she said captain, but I could be wrong. All I remember exactly is that the 1200 is divided among 4 people.

I assume the 18% goes to the waiters, and then the captains supervise the waiters and the maitre'd supervises the captains. While this is all very confusing, my reception should run like a well oiled machine for the amount they expect to be paid in tips. If I say jump, some one better say how high.
