Re: crescent ladies?...

I am using Flowers by Brian.
They were really helpful and they were a Crescent recommendation.

Re: crescent ladies?...

Hey Ladies,

I just met with Bill/Denise on Sunday regarding booking my wedding there. They stated that if you add people, it's never an issue. Apparently for every 25 people that you add, they take $5 off the per head rate. They call it their 'if' clause. If you go up in people, they go down in price. The only thing is, i'm not sure if that only applies to weddings that start around 175-200. We are guaranteeing 200...but think we'll end up with about 225 so they said they would drop the price for us day of if that was the case. I'm not really sure if it would be too late to change the contract now. I would think not, they're very accommodating. Just thought I would add that I also really like the tulle. I read about this florist that can put a pouch of rose petals in the center of the tulle and have it release during your first dance. I might look into it....sounds really pretty. Good luck with your planning.

Re: crescent ladies?...

Hi Ladies,
I just booked the CBC for my reception. I am so excited to be a crescent lady. I was so amazed at how beautiful the place was and how accomodating they were. Just curious, what colors are you using for the reception flowers?

First of all... go see John at Flower Michele, if you don't already know who you're using. He has surprisingly GREAT prices for his quality. And, he knows the Crescent, so he'll steer youin the right direction!

I just picked my flowers yesterday...

For the tables, I'm going with low centerpieces, square vases with black magic and dusty pink roses and a light pink hydrangea. And he's surrounding the square vase with four votive candles, which will reflect off the vases - and all of them will reflect off the windows at the Crescent. I can't WAIT! They're making a sample centerpiece 2 months before the wedding!

For my cocktail hour centerpieces, I'm making my own square vases with sand and shells in each one and a candle. I may also ask them to bring these up to put on the fireplace and in the bathrooms.

The flowers below are for my bo-k and the BM's. I LOVE them, and the picture is a Flower Michele picture... they did these original flowers. The picture below it is the centerpiece I'm ging to make for the cocktail hour tables.

HTH! Have fun picking your flowers!

Re: crescent ladies?...

Thanks for the tips. You are so right about John, I already booked him for my old reception hall, so I am just trying to think of ways to have what we discussed work with the Crescent. We had planned on doing white, cream and blush roses with white lillies and white hydranda for the CP. I am thinking of sticking with that and adding some light gold roses. I know its pretty hard to make that room look bad. For the CH I am going to stick with what we discussed before, floating rose bowls. I am so excited!

Re: crescent ladies?...

When do you do your menus at the Crescent? I thought it was usually three months from your date, when you give the second deposit, but then I spoke to Denise and she said we could do them a month before. I was just wondering if there was some reason why the standard practice isnt being done with me?

I haven't spoken to Denise, but I had assumed that we would talk about the menu when we put the big deposit down 3 months before the wedding....

Re: crescent ladies?...

So did I, but I called to set up an appointment for the second payment and she was like well you dont need an appointment you can mail it, so I said what about the menus and she said u dont have to do the menus until a month before. I guess I am just being sensitive because she was kinda short with me on the phone.

Re: crescent ladies?...

That's weird. I'm surprised she was rude to you. I wanted to do it early, so that I can get started on making the menus, but I guess we'll have to wait?

Does any one know if they will make any cake you want? Or do you have to pick from pictures they have?
