Crest Hollow

I keep getting nervous about the hall as I keep reading negative things on here, what is going on with them? I would appreciate feedback from those who have had weddings there, plan on having a wedding there, or those who have been a guest at a wedding there.

Re: Crest Hollow

I've been to two weddings there...For my sister's may of 03, I was MOH.

I found that the service was impeccable. They took care of EVERYTHING. I got a bad allergy attack from taking outdoor photos and the bridal attendat was RIGHT there with benadryl and a bottle of water. She also brought me my own separate food from the CH (I stayed in the bridal suite b/c of the aformentioned allergy attack), because I'm a vegetarian, and I'm not even the bride!

My sister had the starlight room, it was just such a beautiful setting. I just have to say they were TOTALLY on top of EVERYTHING. My sister couldn't have the CH outside b/c it was too cold, and they refunded her the $$.

The only negative thing was that they didn't give people knives for the steak, but I asked the maitre d and he brought them.

I went to my cousin's wedding in July 2003. It was in the emerald room. it was realy pretty, but that room has a more dated feel to it. I didn't personally like the mirrors, and I didn't like the tiers. I was on the top level, and I felt like I was at a different party..but the bartender for the rolling bar was SO on top of everything. The only complaint this time was that there wasn't enough seating in the CH, but this is a pretty common thing. Some people choose not to have 100% seating ecause they want people to mingle. Anyway, the CH is SO good at CHCC. They have amazing frozen drinks, and all of the food is SO good.

The Viennese is amazing. For my sisters wedding, they had this big presentation, wheeling it out onto the dance floor, and at the other wedding, it was in a separate section of the room and the doors opened to reveal it. They display everything SO well. They do have a ot of weddings at a time, but they don't have paper thin walls like some places, and as long as you're in the ballroom, you won't notice or care anyway.

I really liked CHCC. I didn't go with it for my wedding because the decor really isn't my personal taste, but it is a beautiful place with great food and a VERY attentive staff. I wouldn't worry about it

The two biggest complaints I have and what the general concensus is, is that 1) There are way too many events going on at the same time. and 2) The food is not that good.

Don't freak out. It's your hall, you picked it for a reason and hopefully b/c you're in love with it. I know it's hard to just turn a blind eye to it, but I'm sure you won't even realize if there are other folks in the site other than yours.

My sister had her wedding there (and my cousin many many years back) and I just booked this weekend.

The food is great! and the grounds are beautiful! We have a very traditionhal italian family who would let you know otherwise. We did not have one complaint from the event.

As far as the number of events going on at once, we would have never known at my sisters wedding- there are 4 room in the entire place- and there isnt necessarily 4 weddings going on. - could be holiday parties, bar/bat mitz, etc (whick are more low key).

The truth is that I could say a bunch of negative things about a bunch of weddings that I have been to in LI at many venues but they arent things that are going to ruin weddings, so I dont post them. Some people report on every little thing- which I guess is good because they are trying to look out for the other brides- but until a a negative thread is opened on their hall- they wont have any idea the imapct a tiny little comment can make on someone spending a lot of $$ for the day of their dreams.

Bottom line- you will have a great wedding and every hall has a flaw.

I know what you mean. Sometimes I read things on here that I wish I didn't. All I know is that I loved CHCC when I saw it and I 'just knew' that it was the place for me. I have a lot of confidence in them!

I'm feeling a little better too. I booked it because I loved the style, but well I have gotten nervous about some of the things that I have read and not only from this site. Plus, I haven't really had the best experience with my BM. What I am trying to do is just concentrate on what I really want. I need to make a note to make sure steak knives are given out. I guess with every hall there will be good and bad, now we just have to make sure that we have more good.

I went to a wedding there last summer and loved everything about Crest Hollow, the food during CH was amazing!! The service was really good too..My cousin (the bride) was very happy dealing w/ them and said they took 'care of her.' Dont worry your wedding will be beautiful!

And about more than 1 wedding at a time the only time I even noticed that was when using the ladies room, which wasnt a big deal cuz they are so big!
