ANY INFORMATION OR OPINIONS ON CREST HOLLOW COUNTRY CLUB?

Re: crest hollow

i'll be the first to reply. i looked at it as a possible wedding site. loved the outdoor ceremony area...that was what attracted me to it. however, i felt the place was way too big. each room was massive with gigantic ceilings. didn't have the intimate or warm feel i wanted. everything was finished in a mahagony or dark oak. very manly rooms. they also had multiple weddings going on at the same time. i don't mean just one or two...but several scheduled right after the other. things can get hectic in there when guests are intermingling with guests from other weddings. but i still loved the outdoor space if you don't mind seeing tennis courts and pools. very much a country club feel on the outside. maybe other people will do it justice.

I went to a wedding there about 2 years ago.

First off, the cocktail hour was insane. The food was amazing and the set up was gorgeous.
The dinner was great as well.
It is big, and there is a lot going on, I definitly saw other parties, but it really wasn't that big of a deal.
I didn't see any other brides, just some people walking around the lobby I think.

Too big - several going on at the same time. My best friend got married there. So after her aunt dropped dead on the dance floor and the people there didn't believe we needed an ambulance...another wedding party tried to steal her centerpieces...and when I found pieces of broken glass in the rice and informed the server, they didn't do anything. However, this was several years ago, but I still think the place is overrated.

Same here...just had my reception there this past january. I loved the place. Yes, its big but I really liked the size of the room I had that no one was on top of one another and there was plenty of room to dance and mingle. Also, although they have more than one event going on you really wont see the other people unless passing by through the bathroom. I dont know how they have the place set up for sound but there was a realy loud party next door to us, but you could only hear them in the hallway there was no carry over noise from their party to ours and vice versa. The food was amazing and both of our families are still complimenting us on how much they loved everything.

If you like the place and its what you are looking for that is what is imporant. Everyone is looking for something just slightly different but for me CCHC was what I wanted and ended up being amazing.

Good luck figuring things out. With so many possible RH's in Long Island it can be over whelming.

You sould also do a search for Crest Hollow in the review section and that will give you more detailed infomration.

I had my reception there Nov 2005...it was wonderful

We only had 175 people so we had the Emerald room downstairs which was very intimate.
I liked the renovations they did to my room right before because the wood made it look so much clasier and of course my flowers made it look beautiful anyway!

There were other weddings but I never saw the other brides/grooms....I wouldve liked to just to say congratulations

Food was great (from what my guests said) I didnt eat any I was so hyped up

We upgraded to Viennese hour and that was AWESOME!!!!

ive been to plenty of large 300+ weddings there. everything was nice...just DO NOT go to their recommended florist vendor j a c k and r o se . THey are AWFUL! brides on here did not have positive experiences with them
In addition the BM are very nice Sharon or Janet

The pool cocktail hour is always lovely!

Re: crest hollow

I think it's very pretty, but I personally did not like the fact that despite saying they stagger events so brides don't run into each other, when I arrived for my meeting TWO BRIDES were outside in their cars, one behind the other, waiting to go into Crest Hollow. Both families were in the lobby and you could tell that they were there for two different parties and I was really put off by the fact that everything seemed very disorganized.

Also, the BM I met with tried to rush me, then insisted that because their grounds are 'so beautiful and extensive' that I get married at noon, then go take pictures for 4 hours and then have my cocktail and reception in the evening - um no. The pool in the back is very pretty and the one room they showed me (I think the Emerald Room) was nice, but I just felt like it was too much of a wedding factory with no personal attention.

I HAVE heard great reviews on the place, so they can't be that bad, but after my experience there, I would not have my reception there. Like the above poster said, everyone looks for different things, so go with your gut.

My sister was married there in July 06. While there were other weddings going on, my sister never even saw the other bride. Everything was great.
