Hi! I have the Emerald room in CHCC for my reception. What kind of floral centerpiece did you use in that room or plan on using? I'm thinking high centerpieces and my mom is screaming LOWWWW :) Dark colors? Pale colors? Any pics? Thanks!

Re: Crest Hollow Brides and Centerpieces
I am getting married at the Crest Hollow but up in the Plaza room. I am doing high centerpieces, I like the high ones better than the low. However the Emerald Room is not very square or rectangular. It almost has 2 levels so low ones could look nice also. As far as colors go I would wait to see what your bridal party is wearing and also don't forget that the carpet is mostly pink.

the emerald room is the one downstairs to the right? i agree with littlecat- the low ones will look nice in that room bc of the 2 levels. the high ones may get lost- esp when viewing them from the lower level.
i am using high centerpieces.
i am getting married in plaza room too! littlecat- how are your plans coming along?
the carpet is pink?? i don't remember that!!

I'm in the plaza room too...in 22 days...I have High centerpieces...all cream roses with white orchards cascading from the bottom. I went with very pale colors becasue the carpet is very loud. I can't remember which room the Emerald room is...but i think whatever you choose will look beautiful....ask to see pics of affairs from that room so you can get an idea of the centerpieces people have used.
Oh and just wondering what color linens you guys will be picking for the tables?
Thanks for all the advice. I guess low centerpieces would be ideal. High centerpieces would draw everyone's attention up and with low ceilings - not a good idea. The carpet is pink? I think it's more like a dark rose color. Hmmmm it's been awhile since I've been there. Do you think I would be crazy to go there and snap some pics? I think it's time to harass my banquet manager. I have Leo - he's such a sweetheart. :)
I haven't decided on a color for the bridesmaid's dresses. I'm partial to blue. My mom is driving me crazy. She thinks I should choose a pale pink as it will match with the room! I hate pink! Since when do the dresses have to match the room? Grrrr.

I'm at the CC too, but in the Empire room. So funny, I was just thinking of this last week. This room has HIGH ceilings, and I'm having low centerpieces. I thought they would get lost in the room and contemplated doing 1/2 and 1/2 - 1/2 up and 1/2 down. However, my pocketbook does NOT have room for the high, so low it is

Don't worry so much about matching the room. When all is said and done, the tone will be set by the colors you pick for the girls, and no one will be looking at the carpet.
If you have low ceilings, go for the low centerpieces. They will stand out more. And, Crest Hollow does long taper candles for free, that will help draw the attention to them!
We had Suburban (other half of the Empire room) and I wanted high centerpieces because of how high the ceilings were, but I've seen pictures of this room with low centerpieces and it works just as well. We had all kinds of pastels, and it really brightened this otherwise dark room! You can't see it that well in this pic...but you can get the idea of what we had...
