Hi, So we went for our appointment a couple weeks back, and I cant help but still be a little bothered by this. We decided to go with the in house cake, because we did not want to spend additional money. We were then asked what kind filling we wanted and were given a list of choices. Since this is my wedding cake, and not a birthday cake! I asked if i could try a few of the options in order to make a decision because there was one I liked from a bridal show there but could not remember which one, and I was advised that I could if I went back to a bridal show, but they could not provide me with samples at that point. Did this happen to anyone else, and if not could you advise what you think I should do about this :(

I saw the book for Dortoni's and all of the up charges seemed to be very expensive, if you just do the basic cake it is made in house, and Dortonis has nothing to do with it :(

Do you mind if I ask who your BM is, because I asked mine that question specifically. I have to admit I would be relieved if that was the case, but obviously one of us was given incorrect information, and I think we should be given a straight & correct answer.

I'm confused. Tom, my BM said that all cakes were made at Dortoni. What kind of prices were you given? Did your BM give you a book of designs? I've been under the impression that I will be going to Dortoni's and talk to them about my cake, not my BM.

When i got the call and went in to meet with my BM he asked about all the food which we went over, and then he asked about the cake. He asked if I would be going with the cake included in the package or fi I wanted to look through the book. I looked through everything seemed to expensive so I said i will go with the one in the package he showed me a picture it looked fine it was buttercream. Then he asked what filling i wanted canoli, vanilla pudding, choch pudding, strawbeery, rasberry etc... Red velvet cake is also extra. I said can i taste a few he said they didnt have any, I said can I go to Dortonis to try the fillings he said the cakes included in the packages are made onsite, and dortonis only made the upgraded cakes!

I can't believe we are all gettin different information. I was eternal the choc mousse filling or dabash. Which is an upgrade. If it is made at CHCC for the mousse I'll def pick the dabash then
Who puts the flowers on the cake

I hope I can go to the actual bakery and taste the cake. I'm a HUGE cake person so this will be a must. I'll have to make sure I can do that when I meet with my BM next. Whose your BM?

They are going to decorate when at the venue, and I am using Distinctive Floral.
