Just want to warn everyone about what happened to a friend...She booked Crest Hollow CC last June for her January 2001 wedding. When she went in this week to finalize her arrangements, they told her that the room she booked was unavailable...they made a mistake and overbooked. They are hosting a corporate party for 800, and are using the whole upstairs, so they are bumping her to a room downstairs that she absolutely hated. Even though she had the name of the original room written in her contract, they tried to make her sign a waiver releasing them of any fault, in fact, they told her she HAD to sign it (she didn`t)...The only compensation they offered her was a vienese table, a candy cart, and italian deli meats...can you imagine??? All this a week before her wedding! She is devastated!!!!! We all know darn well that they just didn`t want to lose a large corporate party b/c of lack of space when they could just bump her downstairs and play stupid. They said this party was booked before hers, but they didn`t realize the conflict until Jan. 1. I just want to warn all CHCC brides of this unacceptable situation. Apparently writing the name of your room in the contract doesn`t mean too much. This poor girl is so upset, angry and streesed out during what should be the most exciting and happiest time of her life. She did hire an attorney, but this is not much consolation to her as she had been looking forward to this day as she had planned it!!

Very good point. It doesent hurt to reconfirm with vendors more than once. I remember this story I think the bride was actually from this board.

I think I've heard of that story before.
Where is that other board? Just curious.

It was my friend...

I had posted it on the UW board also...I believe she is in the process of suing CHCC, though she probably won't get much out of it. It's just the point of what they did, and the timing of it that made the happiest time of her life a misery. The name of the room was in her contract, and it didn't matter. She doesn't want to let them win, and I don't blame her!!

Did your friend register with the BBB?

I did a search and this complaint does not come up. I hope she reports it because I check the Better Business Bureau for everything. You would not believe some of the complaints for the limo companies. It`s kinda scary. Good luck to all.

We just visited about 18 different venues in 2 days... lots of fun-- and narrowed our choices down to Crest Hollow and Westbury Manor. Does anyone have some info or advice for either one?
