Hi..went to CHCC last night to do menu and was shocked to see scaffolding in the lobby and drilling and hammering going on! I asked Leo the Banquet manager about it..he said 'The construction is only done Monday-Thursdays and you will never know anything was being worked on during Friday, Sat and Sun. The Starlight room (on main floor..the one with the sunken dance floor) is going under major construction starting next week and will go on for three weeks. They will have workers working for 30 hours straight in six hour shifts for 3 weeks til it is complete' I was a little disappointed to hear this as my wedding is Feb 25, 2005 and I wanted to have my coctail hour in that room. Oh well...all of the other rooms are so beautiful I guess it doesn't matter. He showed me a picture of what the room will look like when it is done and it will have dark cherry wood columns and white chairs.....very beautiful...all the brass is also gone.
By the way, if you want to add different beers to your bar, they charge $1.50 per person pre beer. We added heinekin. To have a tray of French and Italian pastries on every table is $3.50 per person compared to the $7.00 per person Vienesse Hour. Just an FYI.
20 Days to Go!! WHOOHOO!!! Jamie

Re: Crest Hollow Construction Update....
Thanks! It's ridiculous that Heinkein is not included. Doesn't it say Premium liquours and beers on the contract? My father is NOT going to be pleased about this!

Re: Crest Hollow Construction Update....
To correct the room..its the Emerald (sp) room going though construction... my wedding should either be the first or second wedding to use it. its being discussed in the 05 thread.

Sorry about the incorrect name..The only beer included is Coors and Bud light and O'douls. We have the premium liquor also but they really don't include anything.......You can also buy the beer by the case but once it runs out that's it......they quoted us about $40 for a 24 case of heinekin so we decided to pay per person so it is unlimited. I would be very embarrassed if my guests were told 'Sorry we are all out of Heinekin'!!!!!!!

That's ridiculous. Are they only going to charge you for the guests that drink the Heinkein or do you have to pay $1.50 multiplied by your total guest count.
I think I asked Leo this when I was signing the contract and I'm pretty sure my father probably said something. This is getting me upset! I'm really about fed up with all these little charges that they try to sneak in at CHCC!

Re: Crest Hollow Construction Update....
A girls on these boards who's getting married at Floral Terrace (I can't remember her name) said that they added something to their package -at the end of the night, as all the guests are leaving they are handed a pretzel and a few other things to take home with them. Does anyone know if the CHCC does anything similar to this?

Re: Crest Hollow Construction Update....
I didn't know about the beer charge for Heinikan at Crest Hollow!!! They never mentioned that when we booked with them! I thought Top Shelf meant whatever I wanted. I'm almost positive they said I just need to tell them what kind I want and they will get it... =(
What other type of 'hidden charges' are there???
Are they doing construction to anything else besides the Emerald Room?

Re: Crest Hollow Construction Update....
im not too worried about the extra charges
the only thing i would want is better tablecloths cause i hate the ugly polyester ones you always see...i want it to be beautiful so i might just go out an rent some sheer overlays
im dying (literally, im sick) waiting to see what the emerald room looks like

My parents have been to several parties at CHCC...not weddings, but Bar Mitzpahs and Fire Department big dinners...they never had anything given to them that wasn't provided by people throwing the party.

Anti-bride,
Yes that the pictures I saw. I don't mind the tablecloths. It's these extra charges that's getting me.
