The only thing my future in laws MUST HAVE at the wedding is their outside catering (which appeals to their culture).
I have been trying to find a nice place in Brooklyn/Queens, but cannot find anything we like that fits 300 people, allows outside catering.
I really like Crest Hollow Country Club...and on TheKNot.com, it says they do allow outside catering, but I am wondering if this is accurate.
Please help!!!

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club
I have been to a birthday party there for someone who was Indian and they had the food from an Indian place. So they have at least in the past allowed catered food to be brought in.

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club
if you are looking for Indian food i wanna say that it is something that they cater to because they do a lot of big Indian weddings in the large upstairs room! it is definitely worth talking to someone there about.

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club
It is not an indian wedding, but it also involves the cultural food of the Groom's family (which no american/italian/continental chefs are able to accomplish well enough).
I also thought they didnt allow, thats why I was surprised. Maybe we can try to work something out with them.

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club
what kinda food are you looking for??
What about looking for like a mansion or something that you have to cater food into anyway. i know you want brooklyn or queens but there are more of his style out east. like the wineries you have to cater everything yourself.
did you try the Brooklyn botanical gardens , or maybe doing it in a museum? those type of places would charge you more of a site fee instead of a per person charge since you are bringing in your own food.

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club
I'm from Brooklyn, and so is everyone from the wedding party. I'd rather not do it out on Long Island unless its something really beautiful and special (that's the impression i got from CHCC)
I would LOVE to do the Botanic Gardens or the Museum, but I'm pretty sure they dont allow outside catering (please let me know if I'm wrong...it would be my happiest mistake lol)
As for the wineries, I have never researched them. Could you link me or give me the names so I can take a look =)
Thanks!

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club
By the way, the food is culturally/regionally specific to a 'type of Jewish culture', but it's not Kosher, and the Kosher places don't make it either. Hence my dilemma.
I would hope some places would understand, but they dont want to be open-minded.
If I could find an amazing place that allows outside catering (even an empty space in Brooklyn), I'd be happy. Something like Galapagos Art Center would be perfect, but only fits 150 :/

Call them up. The event I went to had food that was not done by Crest Hollow. So it has been done before but there may be rules involved.
