Crest Hollow Mini Review
I just got back from the association dinner at the Crest Hollow a little while ago, and as promised to the CHCC girls, here's my mini review!
***Disclaimer***
This wasn't a wedding, nor have I ever been to a wedding there, so don't know if anything would be handled differently. I've only been to a church dinner and this association dinner.
CH was in one of the second floor CH rooms. It was long going lengthwise, and very very narrow. It got pretty crowded really fast, and there were way too many people than seating allowed for, so it was a little chaotic. The food was pretty good though.
Dinner was in the downstairs room straight back, that has a U-Shape setup, but odd because the one long side and back side of room is on elevated platform, and dance floor and remaining side of U is on ground. Maybe this was an over booking instance, because the room was WAY too small for the amount of people there. There must have been about 30 tables crammed in, so was really hard to walk around.
The menu was abbreviated, salad, entree, and dessert. The salad was interesting, I called it the identity crisis salad: had cranberries, walnuts, fresh mozz, roasted red peppers, portabellas, zuchini, squash, and chinese noodles with balsamic vinaigrette. What a combo! I actually liked it, but FH barely touched his, he just doesnt like fruity nutty salads.
The chicken Milanese was pretty good, had a bruschetta on top. Roasted potatos were good, the carrots and green beans, ehh.
Dessert was an ice cream sundae, but kind of skeeved me because it had really bad freezer burn on it already. Then we found an earwig crawling around the table, so that was fun trying to discretely get rid of it lol.
All in all it was pretty good. I definitely liked the church function better though, because it was a more elaborate menu probably closer to a wedding, and the CH and RH rooms were much larger and accomodating. I just felt the space we were put in was inadequate for the size of the party.
HTH!!!
