Crest Hollow Vendors

Hi all! Calling all Crest Hollow Brides... I am looking for some feedback on the Crest Hollow vendors. Especially photographers and florists. We are required to use the florists they recommend, and I am thinking that going with a photographer they recommend would be smart. They are familiar with taking photos there. I have seen an album from Fine Art Photographers, and liked it. I have an appointment with them this Saturday. Thanks for the feedback.

Crest Hollow Vendors

I am getting married at the Crest Hollow in August. I was not told that I MUST use one of their florists! I don't think that is true. You should check on that. As far as photographers...we liked Fine Art and are going w/ them. We met Chuck and liked his personality as well. I think that is very important, being that you will be with him a lot. We did not pick any of their bands either. We are going with Code Bleu. I loved them. I have not chosen flowers yet. I will begin to look in January. When is your date? Your room? Have you chosen any vendors yet?

I had my wedding at Crest Hollow...

You are definitely NOT required to use their vendors. They are merely recommended. However, I did end up using Fine Art, and loved them (just got my album last week)!!! And, I used Flowers by Burton - excellent (see all the wonderful postings about them recently - do a search). Good luck!

Crest Hollow Vendors

I have definitely found that I click with some vendor personalities over others...this repoire and their work really has made it easy for me to choose them. Here is my list...oh and don't talk to salesppl if you can help it try to talk to the person who will actually perform the services you're asking for the day of the wedding... I can't say enough good things about Danny at Pedestals. Their prices are more than reasonable (much less than other CHCC florists). Danny has a great personality, and is even getting married himself so really understood our concerns. I was actually told that we had to go with Crest Hollow preferred florists. Nicole before you book an outside florist please call your Banquet Manager. I think this is their deal also b/c CHCC gives 10 dollars off all centerpieces. As far as bands...Franklin Wayne are by far the best I think! Timepiece was awesome but I need a band that can play more Jewish music so am still searching...the band search is the hardest for me so far. I went with an outside photographer b/c I like the more candid, naturalistic style and Photo by Verdi is a husband and wife team - we went all the way out to what seemed to be the tip of LI to meet with them they are THAT good! I just love their work and their attitudes! They are very expensive from what I'm told but I think worth it. Oh and they do an engagement shoot to 'get to know you'. Well I think thats it for now...I can't wait to book the band and be done with the bulk of the planning!!!

Just wanted to say...about bands...

I haven't met with or heard all the bands/dj's on the CHCC list so when I said Franklin Wayne is the best so far...its only from what I've actually seen. I'm really only looking at bands that do the Jewish music AND the contemporary stuff. It's hard b/c some bands don't do showcases and others do...if you can I'd definitely go w/a band that you can hear before-hand in person. Book bands early they go so fast I'm finding!

Crest Hollow Vendors

I saw a friend's album done by Chuck @ Fine Art and it was beautiful. It just so happens that they are on the list. Bonus! I have an appointment for Saturday. As for florists, I went to a Bridal Expo yesterday, and saw some of Mormile's work. It looked good, so I made an appointment. I was also thinking of going with Flowers by Brian. I have hear Florissima does nice work as well. I was also told I HAD to use their florist. As far as music goes, at the same bridal expo, I saw Code Bleu, and all I have to say is WOW! They are awesome. Our date was booked. We are actually looking into DJ's b/c of price. I would love a band, but it is not in our budget. Don't forget they don't provide music at the cocktail hour. I think Code bleu has a pianist for that, though so you don't have to worry. We are meeting with Big Hits for the DJ, saw them at a wedding and they were good.

To LaurenDM - Regarding flowers

I had 12 tables, and had four bridesmaids and four ushers. With all the bouquets, centerpieces, boutineers (sp?), etc., I paid, I think, $1700 or $1800 total. And, I could use any flower I wanted, even if I wanted all of my flowers to be the most expensive. They were wonderful to work with, and did absolutely beautiful work!!!

Band at cocktail hour

Just a quick note about bands not providing music during cocktail hour - my band did provide such music - it was just that we only used two pieces of the band (keyboard and saxophone) during the cocktail hour, and the rest of the band during the reception.

To LaurenDM - Regarding flowers

I just checked my contract and it says that I must use the house vendor for florist. I am going to call and see what they can do. My friend at work just got a great deal from Burton's. I wish I could use them!!!
