Has anyone ever went on a cruise in october? I keep hearing that we could get caught in a hurricane?
Any advice would be appreciated.

No I did not go on a cruise in Oct, but isn't Nov hurricane season? Maybe it depends on where you are planning on going.

We went on a cruise the end of September/october & we did get delayed bc of Hurricane Ivan....We were doing the Disney Land/Sea vacation. So part of our land vacation got messed up! The cruise was smooth as can be!!!!

It really depends on where you are cruising to. There are many places that are not in the hurricane belt so the weather will be fine. I know people who have gone on cruises in Sept and Oct and everything was great. They went to Bermuda and the Southern Caribbean (i believe).

Hurricane season runs June1-December 1 and peaks around September 10. (It's almost like a bell curve) The later you go in October, the better your chances.
We went on a cruise starting October 23 that went from Miami to the Bahamas to Key West, and around the area. We didn't want to chance early October because we are weather geeks. We wanted to wait for a week later, but I work in TV and can't get off during ratings periods (November being one).

I went on a cruise in September and when it stopped at St. Thomas it had to leave at 3 instead of 5pm to get ahead of the storm that night the ship was rocking a lot because of the Hurrican in the water but er never experienced anything else other than what I mentioned and the rest of the cruise we experienced nothing.

ships usually don't cruise somewhere if that is the hurricaine season in that area, so you should be okay. i took a cruise to bermuda at the very end of october and it was totally fine.
