I just found out that Princess Cruise lines, who I'm using for part of my honeymoon allows smoking in their rooms, as do most of the other major cruise liners.

I'm a severe asthmatic and do not do well in enviroments where people have been smoking. I'm scared that I have to cancel my cruise now because I can't risk getting on a ship where they can't move my room if it stinks.

Princess assured me that they clean there rooms well, but I'm not sure if I can trust them.

Anyone have any experience with their room smelling of smoke??

Please help, I'm in a total panic now

I've never had this problem on a cruise -- i've never smelled smoke in the rooms. BUT if you're that worried, my suggestion would be to get a balcony room, this way you can keep the balcony door open while you're in the room sometimes to keep it aired out.

I've been on a few cruises and have never noticed a smoke smell.....I think you will be ok.

Princess does keep their rooms clean I didn't smell smoke at all BUT I also was on the Crown Princess when it was their 4th sailing (yes I was on the cruise that tipped/leaned out at sea) my room didn't have many occupants so maybe that's why..but I think a balcony room would be best to air out, but that's odd they should at least have n/s floors to guarantee those rooms are smoke free...

i wouldn't worry about the room smelling like smoke....if it does COMPLAIN and make a big stink....they'll fix it right away

Thanks everyone. I'm just really paranoid because I've had a lot of things go wrong with my wedding planning!! I just want to relax and not have issues on the honeymoon!!

You should be fine in the rooms. Most cruiselines keep their rooms very clean. The problem you may have is in the bars on the ship. Smoking is allowed in the bars and the casino so you may have an issue there. You may also want to ask if there is smoking in the restaurants on the ship. Some ships allow smoking on one side of the restaurant. Hope that helps you.

I have been on about a dozen cruises and didn't even know they allowed smoking indoors so, to answer your question, I have never had nor been in a room that smelled like anyone had ever smoked in it. HTH
