What do you wear? Can I wear shorts? Or should I just wear sundresses/sandals?

Re: cruise attire
I just returned from a cruise fro my honeymoon. I would say what you wear depends on your ship. I did a Carnival crusie that had casual dining. You could wear whatever you wanted all day, but you were not allowed to wear shorts and t shirts in the dining room. You also were supposed to get dressed up for formal nights. I usually changed into a simple denim skirt or a sundress for dinner. My DH would wear his jeans or khakis. You can also choose not to eat in the dining room and then you can wear whatever you want.

Re: cruise attire
I recently went on my first cruise via Celebrity and went through a lot of clothing. Shorts and tshirts or tanks mostly for the day...sometimes a casual skirt. There was two formal nights which I wore a mid calf length dress (dressier than a sundress)...some wore gowns. The other nights for dinner I wore nice pants or capris or skirt or a more casual sundress type dress. Sandals definitely through out the entire week. I do agree it depends on the cruise line, but I would bring a little bit of everything. Have a fantastic time!

Re: cruise attire
If you booked through a travel agent ask them about that particular line and cruise. Some are more formal than others. I would think shorts are fine for the daytime on any line.

yes you can wear shorts. that is what I wore all day, exept at night, I wore nice capris, or sundresses, except on the formal nights. We had 2 of them. I just wore a nice black cocktail dress. I didnt go overboard. Yes, bring lots os shorts.

Re: cruise attire
Ok shorts and tee shirts are fine during the day. Some cruise ships state that no Shorts or tank tops in the dining room (if seated meal) for lunch. It used to be strictly enforced now not as much - but you can throw on a pair of capri pants or jeans and that usually will be ok for lunch. Dinner - most people tend to wear skirts, sundresses or nice pants for dinner on casual nights Informal nights - most people where dresses or skirts and nice tops. And formal - We like to dress so we always get dressed up - but you can find people in anything from very formal floorlengh gowns - to knee length cocktail dresses.
