Re: Cruise for the honeymoon?
I don't know too much about Celebrity cruises. I do know that Royal Carribean cruises are fun. There is wonderful entertainment and the food is good. A side note and you may already know this, Royal Carribean owns Celebrity.

I did hear that...thank you..we already went on a royal cruise and loved it...ideally we would go on this line again but the date is one week after our wedding and that means we would have to go back to work and we did not want to do that. Thats why we have been thinking about celebrity...leaves 2 days after the wedding.perfect. but we are unsure if we will have as much fun on celebrity.

Re: Cruise for the honeymoon?
try looking on the boards at cruisecritic.com they have a separate board for every cruise line, so maybe you can get a feel for what type of people cruise on celebrity.
Where are you cruising to? Maybe the RC would work out if you went a few days early and stayed in the departure port.
We are doing a RC and we are going to disney for a week before that. I can't wait!
HTH!

Re: Cruise for the honeymoon?
I asked my FILs - they have been on both.
They told me that the RC is a younger, more fun boat, and Celebrity tends to be a little older and more high end.
She said the RC was like Spring Break and the Celebrity was like a honeymoon.
So I guess it depends on which type of cruise you are looking for.

Re: Cruise for the honeymoon?
We're going on a Mediterranean cruise for our honeymoon. We selected the Royal Caribbean 12 Barcelona/Venice tour. We made our selection based more upon the dates and the itinerary. There is a Celebrity cruise during our month, but it's about a week or so after our wedding so we didn't even look in to that line.

Re: Cruise for the honeymoon?
I have been on 4 celebrity cruises, including one this summer. I love celebrity. I don't think that it is an older crowd at all. There is a good mix of every age group. FH and I are going on a Royal ship for our honeymoon because Celebrity did not have the destination we wanted for that time of year. I highly recommend celebrity. Hope this helps.

Re: Cruise for the honeymoon?
I was between the RC and Celebrity Mediterranean cruise for our HM and we opted for Celebrity. RC is just a 1/2 step below Celebrity and it also caters more to children than Celebrity. Celebrity just appealed to us more.

Re: Cruise for the honeymoon?
I don't know if you already are set on royal carribean or celebrity, but in May we went on a cruise with Princess Cruise Lines that was wonderful. We also have friends who sailed the Medditerannean with Princess for their honeymoon, and they said it was the best cruise they had ever been on.

Re: Cruise for the honeymoon?
I have been on celebrity three times. They are one of the best cruise lines. ( I should know I have been on 12 cruises). Don't worry about it being all old people, I never had that problem on any line. Who cares anyway, most likely you'll want to be alone most of the time. I have yet to go on Royal Caribbean, but what I have heard about the cruises you cant go wrong either way. Good Luck!!!!!!!!

Re: Cruise for the honeymoon?
FYI - Celebrity and Royal Caribbean are different divisions of the same company. I have been on 5 cruises. Been on Celebrity twice (the crowd is a little older) and am using RC for my HM.

Re: Cruise for the honeymoon?
We went on a Celebrity out of NY and it was good! but I'm personally a CARNIVAL Cruise girl! I've went on 3 of Carnival's and theyr'e AWESOME!!! each boat we were on, had a honeymoon couple on it, and they were like the 'celebrities' of the cruise! everyone knew them! it was awesome- they got the royal treatment!
BUT- Celebrity was really great too! It did feel a BIT more 'formal' than carnival, but hey, carnival is known as the 'party' ship, so it makes sense.
I don't think you can go wrong either way (RC or Celebrity).
