Re: cruise for under 1k?
sometimes you find great deals on some cruises that will go JUST to bahamas or bermuda and maybe for just a few days. Go to cruisecritic.com

i dont know where exactly you want to go or for how long but what about leaving from new jersey harbor. or new york harbor? we used to take cruises to canada leaving from here and it was very inexpensive.

Re: cruise for under 1k?
look into leaving out of NY, Maryland, NJ, boston. This way you dont have to pay airfare. Are you looking for under 1K a person or all together? If its per person, you shouldnt have any problem.

1k all together or per person? It will be really difficult to find a cruise for 1k for two people.
I went on one last year that left from Tampa and went to Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Cruise.com has good rates, I'd look there - It was about $600pp for 5 nights.

Just saw your answer about $1k total... it will def be tough!
Have you thought of a long weekend in South Beach or something? It could be just as relaxing!

ya it could be hard. I agree that maybe looking intosouth beach or somewhere on land might be easier.
Maybe look into flying to mexico and staying at an inn in town in playa del carmen. i think they have some that are nice and not expensive. And walking distance to the beach.

its pretty hard...but either you can leave from here and not spend the money on flights or keep searching for some deals.
check travelzoo. they have some deals going on now. i think i saw a 4 night bahamas cruise leaving from florida for 279 leaving in april. i dont know how much airfare is though...

that can be hard...last year they had insane deals for like $400-500 for a few days to bermuda but thats without airfare...try to leave from ny theres one part at redhook brooklyn, even in jersey that would be ideas

we did one of those w/ FH's family this past summer--to St John & Nova Scotia--it was really fun! 5 days...on Carnival, left from NYC. I think it was around $500-$600 per person....

Re: cruise for under 1k?
This will be SLIGHTLY above your 1K range, but it leaves from NYC so no flights involved and goes to the Bahamas (6 day cruise)...
Yup i found a couple, my friend is planning to go in Aprl, depends on how many days but they booked one leaving FT Lauderdale for 300, royal carribean. If you're with a wholesale club (costco, bjs) check out their prices cause they're pretty good. compare with the actual cruise line price. GL!
