Re: cruises?
I went on one 2 years ago and I got sick one night going from fla to the bahamas. however- they give out dramamine right at the front desk but I didn't know this yet.
The next night I was feeling a little sick and took it and felt completely fine! Just make sure you take it and you should be fine!

Re: cruises?
I am doing the same thing because of the airfare ... we want to do a caribbean cruise, but looking into it the prices might just equal out to be the same because I am getting married 4 of July weekend.

before i went on a cruise i was soooo afraid of this too, i had problems in the past with motion sickness. But we bought the wristbands and even put them on before we got on the ship and seriously we had no problems. Dh took his off bc he said its been 2 days so itll probably be ok and once he took them off he got sick, so yeah the rest of the time he kept them on. Definitely try the wristbands, you'll see tons of ppl on the cruise with them

Ive gone on 3.... and i can tell u the wristbands def work...... they also make that patch you put behind your ear.... i saw alot of people on the ship wearing them.....u can get a prescription from your dr or the dr on board can give you one.

Re: cruises?
It depends.....i've been on a few cruises and Royal Caribbean has been the best thus far and i did not feel the ship rocking. Now the last cruise i went to in March, the weather in the caribbean was bad, winds, rain ect....i felt the ship rocking throughout the trip.....it depends on the weather.
its great i love cruising

Re: cruises?
We went to the Western Caribbean (Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Jamaica). I only noticed the boat rocking on the first 2 days because there was bad weather. I never saw or heard of anyone getting sick. The rest of the trip was fine. My mom was really worried that she was going to get sick while we were planning and even during the first two rocky days she was fine.

Re: cruises?
IMO I wouldnt chance taking a cruise on your HM if you've never cruised before. If youve never done it before and are not sure how you will feel, either take a shorter cruise or pick another trip. The last think you want is to get sick on your HM

Re: cruises?
FH and I wore the patch the entire time and we were fine. The only thing is tehre are side effects...I was really thirsty and my eyes were a little blurry but I didn't change the patch at often as they said to and it went away. FH was fine the whole time.

Re: cruises?
I get motion sickness and was not affected at all when I went on my last cruise. I guess it depends on the person. Try those wristbands- I hear they work.

Re: cruises?
the boats are soooo big that you dont really feel it that much. i went during hurricane season last October and i got sick the last night bc the waves were insane and we were in the front of the boat.
Get a room in the middle of the boat and dont go during hurricane season and you'll be golden.
