Is it worth the extra money to have a balcony room or is it just as fine to have an oceanview. I have never been on a cruise and curious as to what people would suggest.
TIA

Re: Cruises? Balcony or No?
I've never been on a cruise either but I will tell you I was so glad we go a balcony oceanview room on our HM. I loved going out there in the morning and evenings

It is definitely worth the extra money. Ive been on a few cruises, and the first time we stayed in a oceanview room. But ever since we stayed in a balcony room, we won't go back to just oceanview. It is nice to watch the sunset, sunrise, and the boat dock from your own private balcony. FM me if you have any more questions.

Definitely get the balcony! I have never been on a cruise w/o one but I have been in a room w/o out. Makes me feel claustrophobic. And I love getting up every morning and stepping out onto the balcony!

I am going to agree with the other posts and say pay extra for the balcony. You will spend time on it in the morning (breakfast on the balcony was wonderful) and the evenings. We caught sunset and sunrise a few times. Plus, we would hang out there when pulling into port to get our first look of the island. After having been on a cruise with a balcony, I can't imagine not having it the next time.

You definitely need a balcony. I got engaged on a cruise ship balcony after dinner one night. The balcony is so nice b/c you can relax outdoors in privacy.

It is definately worth the money. We had cruised 3 times before our HM & never had a balcony. Now that we had the balcony on our HM, I would never go with anything else. It was great to be pulling in & out of port & not have to fight on the upper decks to get a spot to watch. Also, in the AM's, it was so nice to have coffee & breakfast out there. We also found it very convient for sunbathing especially on the days where we were at sea & you could not find a place by the pool.

Spend the money on the balcony. I've been on a bunch of cruises and it's SO worth having one. The sunsets alone are worth having a balcony for

Re: Cruises? Balcony or No?
I've been on about 6 cruises, and we've almost always went with the cheapest room. (No window / low level). If just lounging around (as you would normally do in a hotel room), it's frequently better to go to the pool area or casino....
The rooms, no matter how much you pay, are always clustrophobic...

100% worth the money for a balcony. I would never cruise without getting a balcony room be careful some ships that are old from the 1990's dont offer balconies.

Re: Cruises? Balcony or No?
FH & I have never been on a cruise before either, but for our HM we are definitely booking a balcony without a shadow of a doubt and wouldn't have it any other way! I'm already fantasizing about going out onto our balcony and reading, enjoying the view, eating, and other HM activities
