I might do them- I saw the idea for doing them yourself on Martha Stewart's site.

Forgive my ignorance - What's a cry pack?

Re: Cry Packs

I saw the Martha Stewart ones and thought they would probably be a pain in the a$$ to make, so I'm doing my own twist to it. I bought individual tisse packets and I'm going to wrap each one in pretty tissue paper and make labels on the computer that say:
For your tears of joy

I was going to do them, and I made a sample of one that said FOR YOUR TEARS OF JOY and showed it to a co-worker of mine. Her comment was ' oh, come on..get over yourself. Assuming people will cry for you. I think it's a little much.' I also asked my family and friends and they thought it was a stretch. Needless to say I dropped the idea.

I thought it was cute though.

Sure!!

A cry pack is basically tissues wrapped up nicely so your guests have a tissue on hand for when they cry (or your moms!!)
They usually say something along the lines of 'for your tears of joy'

Re: Cry Packs

That stinks that people didn't like the idea. All of my friends thought it was a great idea and they're even going to help me wrap them! Once I get the favors and the silk rose petals we're going to have a little party and put everything together.

anyone who says get over yourself about that, is just plain jealous. IMO.

They sell them on ebay for around 2.00 a piece, but I heard if you fold them yourself and just make them, its easy and only cost you maybe a dime.

I am also looking into travel tissue packs instead.

Re: Cry Packs

This might be good for our mom's, but I wouldn't assume anyone else would be needing them.

FW's can say, 'For your tears of sorrow. I'm now part of the family, you can't get rid of me, haha! - Love, Matt'

I doubt most dudes are going to be crying there. I'd never cry at someone elses wedding.

Then again, I sometimes wonder how I will stay composed at my own wedding. *Think hostile thoughts* *Think hostile thoughs*

I agree...
If you put them in a basket..anyone who thinks they might be crying can take one if they want..no one is forcing them.

My friends and family thought it was a cute idea.

Get a sense of humor, and then get over yourself.
