CUBANBRIDE

How was your Bridal shower? I don't see a thread? Can someone bump it?

It was okay.

Sorry, I don't have much to say about it. I am in a very poor mood and am close to crying. Things are not good for me right now. Very close to to cancelling the wedding. No, it's nothing FH did. This time it's actually my fault.

Anyway the shower was fun and I was glad to see everyone. I will post pics when I get some.

CubanBride - whats going on?

I don't want to go into details but basically I made an assumption and I found out last night I was wrong and now I have to make a decision to accept it and get married or live up to my own expectations and not get married.

I know you don't know me but I just wanted to say, don't ever settle for less then you want! You will never be happy. No matter how hard is seems or may be, do what is right for you, nobody else - if that means calling off the wedding or postponing it - do it. Just don't settle! Lots of support!!!!

Hi Cubanbride,

I wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you and am hoping that the best path will become clear to you. Please don't mind my saying that there's no shame or harm in figuring out & doing what's best for -you-. Sounds like you've been through a lot in your life already and you deserve to spend the rest of your life with someone you trust, respect, and know will be good to you & make you happy. A lot of women ignore the 'red flags' and think things will get better, but, sometimes they don't. It's worth taking some time to make sure of your decision (either way).

I saw an interview with an actress who had gotten engaged to her best friend of many years. AFTER they got engaged and sent out engagement notices to all their friends and families, he tells her that he doesn't think that he could remain faithful to her in their marriage! She called off the wedding and sent new notices to her family & friends saying something like 'Picked the wrong guy. Gave him the wrong finger...'

I am so sorry you are struggling right now. I agree with the other ladies-- you really need to do what you know in your heart is the right thing for YOU. I speak from experience. I was engaged before and cancelled only a couple of months before our date. It was and still is, the hardest decision I ever had to make. There were a lot of angry people, hurt feelings, etc. BUT, it was also the RIGHT decision and when push really came to shove, I knew what I had to do. It obvioulsy changed my life--in a good way and in the end, I think it turned out for the better for my ex-fiance as well (who is and was a fabulous person).
Please stay strong and DON'T SETTLE!!! This is the rest of your life you're talking about here! We're all here...please let us know how you're doing and what you're thinking....
