Has anybody gotten a phone call from a company named Culinary Bride regarding a promotion with free gifts? I just spoke to someone that said I was picked for the promotion and my gifts will be waiting for me to pick up at a Hotel in Farmingdale. Is this a hoax?????????????

Re: Culinary Bride Promotion - Is it for real????
I haven't heard about culinary bride but I was getting calls a few weeks ago from simplicity gourmet (always a tennessee number) telling me about the prizes I won -- it was most certainly a scam and I had to sternly tell them three times to remove my number from their database. they got my info from a bridal show -- just from registering for it too because I didn't give out my real info to any vendors

Re: Culinary Bride Promotion - Is it for real????
i actually went to something like this (i don't think it was actually called culinary brides, but it was pretty much the same thing)
bottom line is that it's not worth going ... if you really want details, just ask and i'll type the story out ... but the short version is that the 'gifts' were semi-BS ... one thing was a free 2 night hotel but you had to pay $100 to redeem it which you supposedly get back when you check into the hotel ... we didn't want to risk losing $100 so we just didn't redeem the prizes. waste of time.

Re: Culinary Bride Promotion - Is it for real????
i just got a call today from them.... they said i have to sit their for an hour n half... look at their products answer quick survey and i walk out with either 2 wedding bands (tungsten worth 600$) or 3day 2night hotel stay... and something bout a cert for passport good for 1 yr (coupons to use at other stores) and a 20-40% off coupon to use at their store... have to go claim tomorrow at a hotel in woodbury... ????? going... let you know what happens
It sounded off from what I had read through my own research & I didn't wind up going.

Got a call from them too, to go to Woodbury, won from the expo in Uniondale last week. I set it up to go Wed but felt like it was going to be hoax-y. My Fiance rolled his eyes at me when I said 'Oh lets just check it out'. But now I think Ill cancel! I'd love ot know if anyone has actually gone and what it was like..

It is a SCAM!!! They call from a restricted number saying the card you filled out at a bridal show was selected and they have free gifts for you. The gifts aren't really free, you have to spend money to qualify for them. Anytime someone says you have won something but you have to go pick it up, it's usually a scam. If something is truely free they will send it to you.

Re: Culinary Bride Promotion - Is it for real????
I got the same call. I think they got my number from a bridal show registration because I know I didn't fill out any information at that show because I ended up not going. When they called they said my FH and I had to pick up our free gifts. I told them no thank you. It seem like a scam because like I said I never attended the show so I knew I didn't fill out information at their booth to win anything,
If it works out for anyone let us know.

Re: Culinary Bride Promotion - Is it for real????
I've received this call like 4 times now. My friend went and he said they sat through the stupid cooking show for over 3 hours. Then the 'trip to over 30 hotels' has blackout dates, they don't cover air or transfers and the $100 deposit 'should' be refundable but to check with hotel. IF you feel like you can sit through it without gauging out your own eyes and IF you choose a nearby hotel that you can drive to and IF you pick acceptable dates, then MAYBE it's worth it.
