Re: Curacao

FH and I were contemplating going there for our HM b/c they are one of the few islands that have casinos. They don't seem to have too much to do during the daytime, though, so I don't think we're going there after all.

Re: Curacao

We are looking at the ABC Islands now. We were thinking of Greece but it is out of our budget.

Re: Curacao

My husband and I went to Curacao just last month for a relaxing vacation and thought it was beautiful! However, it was the 'rainy season' but, we were able to catch some sun and snorkel'd a lot.

There are plenty to do and see..it's also known for great (duty free) shopping. Many great restaurants, many beautiful powdery white sand beaches, Hato Cave, Sea Aquarium, Boca Tabla (to see Atlantic Ocean & turtles), many off-shore snorkeling spots, scuba diving wonders, etc.

We rented a car and stayed at the far northwest end of the island called Lodge Kura Hulanda Beach Club. It's a solid 40 minute drive into town. They have ocean front villas that are really nice and we stayed at a Garden suite (all ocean front villas/suites were fully booked). It also has a sister resort located in downtown called Hotel Kura Hulanda (with a casino).

They speak English and accept US currency. BTW, the casinos are cute (small).. it's nothing like Atlantic City or Las Vegas.. (thought to mention that to set expectations).. We've visited the 'supposed larger' ones located at Marriot and Hilton... still 'cute'.

My DH and I have been to French Polynesia twice and thought Curacao has beautiful waters.. Hope you can go and see it for yourself...

I am sharing some pictures (some pictures were taken when the sky was cloudy)...
