Curious about some rules here...
I was just reading the whole 'M&V limo posts' and I found it strange that vendors were posting on this portion of the board. I thought this part was only for brides? Anyway I think M&V needs to post only on the vendor side. Also, I understand that brides who have them booked were upset about the posts but I think we need to remember something, we are all on here to help each other out and share ideas. You have all been so helpful to me, and I hate seeing how easily brides turn on each other on here. We all want the best vendors for our wedding, but lets face it any vendor can screw up or have a bad day. If someone shares that we shouldnt turn on them. We should just feel thankful for the info, and do more research on our vendors if need be. Anyway I am rambling, but are vendors allowed to post on 'brides helping brides'?

Re: Curious about some rules here...
I've noticed a 'pattern' about many of the very negative vendor posts. Many of them seem to come from posters whose only purpose in registering for this board is to warn/flame a vendor.I guess that makes some of the 'regulars' not just immediately jump on the trash'em wagon, because they're 'considering the source'.
I agree it's sad when everyone starts bickering. But it doesn't last and I don't think there are ever long-lasting hard feelings!

I don't think that they are supposed to. This is the 3rd time I have seen this happen!!! Maybe LI weddings should jump in and let us know what the rules really are

Re: Curious about some rules here...
Venders are not allowed to post in the bride side of the boards, although we all know that they read whatever we write on this side. I also agree with you that we should research our venders carefully since any vender can have an off day. I know I've had my share. However, when I hear a lot of negative complaints about a particular vender, I do become very weary of them and will not entertain the thought of having them do my wedding.Anyway...... well put!

Re: Curious about some rules here...
Just wanted to defend July since I saw her post on the knot and suggested she come here since many brides have booked or considered M&V. I thought the brides here would be interested. She is a regular on theknot.com and came here at my suggestion.

Re: Curious about some rules here...
There are people who register here simply to trash a vendor which I think is wrong, but I don't think that Vendors should be posting here at all. This section is fro Brides, not vendors.

Re: Curious about some rules here...
As I said in the other M&V post, I am completely against vendors posting here for any reason...that is what the vendor board is for and forum mail. I have seen many vendors defend themselves on the vendor board, which they have every right to do, but they shouldn't do it here.

Re: Curious about some rules here...
I believe July's post was a true one. She only vented here on Sonicstef's suggestion and Stef obviously knows her as a regular on theknot.com and i trust her. I know no one wants to hear negative things about a vendor they have hired (i certainly don't!) BUT if i was a bride who's special day was tampered and messed with in any way by a rude or obnoxious vendor I would absolutely go out of my way to inform the whole world not to use them. I really do understand that no one want to believe negative things about someone they are contracted with, but we really have no idea yet what it feels like for a vendor to ruin things for you on your wedding day and how one would react. Me... i'd be vicious... totally vicious. Oh and I think just the fact that the limo vendor responded in an inappropriate manner and form ('tell me your name... i don't hide, b.ah, blah blah) shows how unprofessional he is.

Re: Curious about some rules here...
I think vendors deserve the right to defend themselves against negative comments by a bride. However, maybe LI weddings could allow them a post on this board to say only, we have responded to so-and-so's comments on the vendors board.
That way they stay on their board, but we still know that they are telling their side of the story.
