Which RH's did your FH like & Why?? I thought it was so funny to hear why he liked certain places-- when I never thought of it that way. I'll go first:
FH liked Woodbury CC because when we met with them the first time they brought out a three tier crudite, fruit & buffalo mozzerella & tomato tower, samples of about 15 hot hors-deurves(SP) , and two HUGE servings of Tartufo! He was LOVING it!!
He also liked Vineyard Caterers because they had a grooms suite & in the grooms suite they had a Plasma screen TV & Bar-- he was all over that!!
I was thinking- as crazy as I think it is for him to like a place based on those things-- he must think I am just as nuts to NOT like a place because of the chair covers, or 10x10 section of wallpaper!! LOL Gotta love the guys!

he liked JT and once we went there he said this is it.
Why he liked it? he liked the food, they treated us great, the ceilings, the room, the lobby just the whole thing in general

FH and I absolutely 100% loved Russo's and we went to be blown away by the price...but it was less expensive than all of the other ones...we went to price. Weird huh! We just had to have a place with great food...thats all we were interested in. And location..we didn't want our guests to have to travel far.

Re: Curiously...
The first place we went to was Gotham Hall, my FH loved GH, the decor, the high ceilings, but we decided against a Manhattan wedding bec of the craziness of the location no parking etc. But the last place we went to was Westbury Manor, which he loved soooo much we just had to book. He loved that decor, thats its a mansion, the outdoors he really loved bec he wants an outdoor wedding. The amount of food they offer is ridiculous. They treated us to the best cappucino I have ever tasted and the best LavvaAzza Coffee, also a chocolate fondue with the fixings, he was SOLD!!!!!!!!

We liked Russo's for mainly the same reason.. we had seen 8 RH in 2 days (yes it was crazy!). We saw a VFW hall near us (kinda cheezy imo), SandCastle (didn't like how we were treated- for the price we got quoted they also took away half the CH food which would have stunk), Coral House (which was acutally my 3rd choice- ugh I regret that now), a temple in Massapequa (Temple Judah- which was a bit on the expensive side but was my 2nd choice), NHP Inn (too pricey), and a few other not really worth mentioning. Russo's was the choice for us though I don't regret it at all.. the people I've been dealing with (Lauren and Kelly) have been super nice as Mr. Russo himself (we got a chance to meet him when we came to put the deposit down..lol). The food is wonderful as well. Also it's a great location for people to travel to.
Mizzdimple which menu are you doing at Russo's?

We also went to Capitale but it was in China town and the area was just gross my family would have a heart attack if there I choose that place, but its beautiful. GH does have valet but its really expensive, not worth it

I loved Russo's as well the location is close to home, the food is amazing, a little pricy being that we added a lot and we picked the more popular month but definatley worth it. I am very happyyyyy.

Re: Curiously...
The first thing we loved about Floral Terrace was the raised dance floor, thats pretty much all I needed to see, but we also loved the dome and chandelier and how every room was on a different floor, it also has history b/c it used to be an old theatre. Bonus is that the food was amazing

yeah i understand, i had wanted to still take fh to at least look and maybe change his mind, but i looked at their menu and it was a bunch of food that our families are not used to eating at weddings or just in general...They dont want tiny little servings, and it was weird but ALL the entrees were fish, except 1 i think ...i was like this is not really our families style.
Yeah and at capitale you pay for the electricity and deal with the electric company yourself

Yeah the city venues are odd in terms of what you have to pay for in additional, but they are beautiful. I went to a wedding at the Pierre on 5th Ave and that is how I got the idea that I want to get married in the city sooo bad, and it would be so different to have a Manhattan wedding, but yeah the food portions are small. I have to have a ton of food at my wedding for my family and friends to enjoy or else it wouldnt be a real wedding, lol. Anyways we both choose really good RH's on LI, even better

He liked where we are getting married because of what they offered for the price, and because of the room we chose, and because they treated us well and they have good food!

Re: Curiously...
Both FH and I wanted the same things in a RH. We both looovvveeeddd Glen Cove Mansion, and would've had it there, but couldn't make an evening minimum, and we really didn't want an afternoon. FH loved the Woodlands because it wasn't right off Jericho Turnpike, it would only be our wedding, and the menu!

Re: Curiously...
here are ours 1. smithtown landing- we liked the fact that you get to use the whole premises for the day
2. sunset harbor because they threw in an entire vieneses hour with out paying pp extra and it was right on the marina there
3. west lake because of the size of the room held 300 and the dance floor was absolutly beautiful
4. three village inn- cause w elove the historical site type of scene and it was quaint
5. BCC (our RH) we loved it cause the second we walked in we got that great sense of comfort and when we sat down in the lobby to wait for sammy the BM my FH said wow i am really comfortable right now. plus sammy was soo acomidating. he was not caresales man like he said you do what you guys want im just here to write a contract not to try and sell you things you guys dont want or make you feel to pressured. plus we dont have to pay for our vendor meals. the food was fantastic and the hospitality was awesome!!!!!!!! and the place is really nice

Re: Curiously...
FH loved Harbor Club from the moment that he walked in. He told me ' this is it' - I liked it alot but I wanted to keep looking at other places.
In the end, it was the price and the way that they treated us every time that we were there. Not to mention, the food is GREAT!
