Re: Curves!!!!!
I did well at Curves the second and third month I was there - I've been a member since February. The only way I lost weight was when I dieted as well as worked out. Now I've levelled out - Haven't lost a thing in about 2 months. Every time they measure me it seems like they tell me I lost half an inch to make me feel better. I still go three times a week and work really hard when I'm there. It really isn't enough of a workout for me anymore - I guess I developed a tolerance.

Re: Curves!!!!!
Both my mom and I have belonged to Curves, she still does and I do not. I have both good and bad things to say about it.
Good: My mom has lost 40 or so pounds on Curves, using both the excercise and the diet program they recommend. She swears by it and it has brought out a side of her that I haven't ever seen (that's a GOOD thing). She's more confident and more social, and I am so incredibly happy for her. The price is great.
Bad: When I was a member, I found it very difficult to go. The hours are tough to schedule within. Whereas with Bally's or another gym, you can go pretty much whenever, Curves closes for a couple of hours in the afternoon, and then around 7 or 8, and I never saw one open till 8 until I moved down here to Long Island. A gym membership is no good to you if you don't go.
While Curves doesn't work for me, I have no qualms in recommending it to others who would have the schedule flexibility to go.
OH PS - the 'Half Hour' gets closer to an hour if you stretch afterwards (which you really should).

Re: Curves!!!!!
I have never been there a whole hour- I lost 17 lbs. ( I was hoping to lose 15 ). I think I lost 19 inches or so and gained 1 inches in my biceps-- i like having muscle so that was good. My mom lost over 20 but she did weight watchers as well- I ate whatever I wanted. The hours are pretty bad so I was never able to go three times a week. I liked it so much better than the gym because it was so easy to follow and people really noticed the results.

Re: Curves!!!!!
The Curves near me recently changed their hours, so that they are now open ALL day and later into the evening.

Re: Curves!!!!!
Where's near you?
I should really look into getting back into curves, provided they have one with good hours near me.

I'm sure you soon-to-be-brides know about budgets.. can anyone comment on the pricing? Per month? Joining/Membership fee? Anyone know about the curves in Elmont or Valley Stream (hours?) Thanks!
