Curves Help!

Curves Help!

Hi all, I'm considering joining Curves thanks to you wonderful girls. I just wanted some additional info.

Typically what are their hours? I would prob. be going to the Bayside or the Flushing one (on Francis Lewis).

At each center is there just that 1 mini circle of machines or a few of those circles?

Do they show you how to use the machines initially? Do they measure you?

Do you have to join for a full year or can you pay month to month (& stop when you want to?) Are there any other fees?

Thank you so much for all your help.

Yes there is only one circle

They go around with you and show you each machine....You are measured before your first workout and then monthly from there..

Right now it is breast cancer awareness month so if you have a mammogram scheduled or had one within the year there is no sign up fee. It is usually around $79 sign up fee and then it is $39. a month. I'm not sure about if you can go month to month or not. I have been going for a month now and love it. I have lost 6.75 inches and 3.5bs. :D

As far as hours....most of them are open 8:30 til 7-7:30 depending on the night of the week, also open on saturdays 8:30-12. They close for a couple of hours during the day.

Hope this helps.

Re: Curves Help!

Hi! I just joined the Curves in Oakland Gardens off of Union Tpke!

The place where I go is open until 8 or 9 pm depending on the day. They just extended their hours to 9pm on some days and they have Saturdays from 8am - 1pm.

Typically you do three cycles on the machines (3 times around) but to be honest - you could do more since they're not strict about time.

When I first signed up I was told to come anytime except Saturday for the first day so that someone could work with me. A sweet woman showed me how to use each and every machine and then watched and gave me pointers. Before we started on the machines she weighed, measured and checked my body fat. She recorded everything on a sheet and now I'll do it again next month. They keep record and the computer you scan your membership card in will remind you when you're due.

You have two options - you can join for the year or you can pay as you go but doing the pay as you go is more expensive. You also have to pay tax.

Extra FYI: If you sign up for the 1-year you can go to any Curves.

Hope this helps! Good luck!!!
