I'm just frustrated. I have been working with someone since October and feel like I'm not very satisfied with my invites. Kind of crunch time now, so I'm getting anxious. I love the company and her work is gorgeous, but I'm not getting where I want. It takes almost a month between samples and I dk what to do. Don't what to abandon what we started, but I'm not completely happy and kind of need them soon! Anyone else have trouble with the design process for custom invites? I think part of it is not being able to verbalize what I feel and me not being very creative. If I do leave, any suggestions for stores where I could sit with someone to design a custom invite quickly??? I want them mailed out by June. Thanks!

Re: custom invites - grrrr
I did not have any troubles with mine.
i think maybe you can voice your concerns to whomever you are working with. Just state when you would need them by and ask if that's doable. how far in advance did you want to send them out by?
If you are unhappy with the design process, make sure you are being specific about the changes and the details you want. it is a process... but being specific in explaining things really helps.

I just looked.. you have 5 months. OK.. so you probably want to send them out 3 months in advance (about) so that leaves you 2 months to work on them. You have plenty of time. Just make sure she knows you need them done and in your hands in 2 months!
I started working on invites in July for my November wedding. So trust me.. you are still doing fine with time.
Remember when you work with someone on custom invites.. they may have other weddings to complete before your date... so they usually work on the ones where the wedding date is before yours first. It's the only way they can do it.
it may have seemed like a faster process for me because I did it closer to my wedding date and thus I was higher on the list than someone getting married after me who might have been working with the person a little longer.

ITA agree with everything you said. but when dealing with 'custom' orders, you have to make sure that you are being meticulous with everything and being exceptionally detailed with your changes, otherwise, they'll never get you the results you're looking for.
good luck with your invites.

Absolutely. You should tell them EXACTLY what you like/dislike so that you can fix it to what you want. you still have plenty of time so try to be as specific as possible and dont worry they will be beautiful.

Thanks ladies. I sent an honest email earlier and she has sent me 3 emails since! Ask and you shall receive. I got yelled at basically over the weekend since my BM dresses aren't ordered yet, so I just starting freaking I guess! Good to hear there is still lots of time, to make the invites perfect in my eyes.
