Did anyone get their veil custom designed? Can you describe your veil and give me an idea how much it costs? I don't know what is an average price or not.
I'm thinking about getting an off-white cathedral length veil with the end of the train embroidered with the design of the front of my dress. I don't know how much this might be. My dress designer said his veils start at $700 (fingertip length). If it's too expensive to get theveil made, then I'm probably just going to go with scattered rhinestones on it.
PS: Does anyone knowif veils can be dyed?

Re: Custom Veils
Okay I called a store and they said that they can make me a cathedral veil with embroidery on the bottom in the $200-$300 range and one with scatter crystals in the $100-$150 range. That sounds good right?
Oh, I have a question about silk tulle veils, can you put rhinestones on it?

Re: Custom Veils
Before you spend a small fortune, go to Barrons in Tri County. She custom makes all the veils for at least half the price of the salons.

Re: Custom Veils
Ok, I called Barron's to get a general idea on prices and she said that her cathedral length veil (pencil cut edge) tends to go for $90 (bridal illusion) and the silk tulle is $140. Does that seem reasonable?

Re: Custom Veils
Yes, I did a lot of research on the net. I ordered a cascading cathedral length veil from Barrons. Her $90 price was $20 more than I found on the net BUT, she measured me exactly and we talked about where I wanted the cascades to start to fall and how extreme I wanted it to be. So yes, for $20 bucks more it's custom and longer... 120' rather than 108' than I found on the net.

Re: Custom Veils
I don't even know why I'm considering Barron's. I live in Chicago, and the amount of money that it would cost me to fly in for a weekend and so my veil (and makeup trials) would be crazy. I might as well pay the extra money and get it done out here. UGGH, there's nowhere like NY!

Re: Custom Veils--Barrons
For all Barrons Brides--do you know if they do veils with the ribbon edge? or if that's even what it's called. I hear so many great things about them that i want to check them out but want to know what i'm asking for if i call.
also--do they sell combs too or just tiarras?

i'm surprised, I went to barron's and she quoted my $150 for cathedral length....I guess it depends on the bling you want on it....

Re: Custom Veils
There's a website that makes custom veils at pretty reasonable prices, someone on here posted about it recently, but I can't remember the site. I printed out some stuff from the website that I have at home, so I'll look at it and let you know tomorrow what it is.

Not sure if this was the website you were referring to, but one is sewdeb.com. I have seen several brides that used her and highly recommended her. I have emailed her a few times so far to ask her questions, and she's been very helpful.

Re: Custom Veils
netbride.com has a section where you can pick out your head piece then the type of veil and any extras. They seem pretty affordable.
