Customary?

Customary?

Ladies - Do you know if the bridesmaids need to tip the hair and makeup people for their services? I feel like NOT, I will tip them both as the bride for me, but I feel like not necessary for the girls-? Any suggestions?

I think technically, you're supposed to. Everyone officially is supposed to tip. However, I refuse because if I'm putting cash directly in your hand, I don't feel the need to tip on top of that.

I will be tipping both of them based on the total of their services. I'm not sure what like the 'standard' is but coming from the service industry I wouldn't ever not tip, and I don't expect my girls to really, so I'll tip them for both.

I've always tipped the hair and makeup person when I have been a bridesmaid in a wedding.

I don't think I tipped the makeup artist or hair person when they came to my bride friend's house years ago. I wasn't hip to wedding etiquette then! I think if we had been in a salon I would have automatically factored that in.

If the bride is covering all the tips then no, they don't have to tip. But if not, they should definitely be tipping.

If the bridesmaids are having their hIr and makeup done and the brides not paying for it, they should tip.
I'm going to tip both my hair and make up girl. It shows that you appreciate their service even if it's not a big tip something's better than nothing.

I'm going to tip my MUA because I've used her a few times and always have. However, I'm paying a disgusting amount for my hair and she'll be receiving cash so I'm not giving her anything additional.

I think you should do whatever you are comfortable with. It is not a requirement at all, but if the girls are happy with their services, then it is there call. As a makeup artist myself, I often get tips from the bridesmaids as well as the bride!

If the person does it on her own and is coming to you I don't think you should. But that is everyone own choice,

Regardless of if you're putting money directly into a person's hand or not, you should tip them. It shows you appreciate their work and you are happy with their service. In regard to bridal party, it is really up to the bride as to whether she is tipping for you. I plan to tip for my bridal party so they can spend their extra $ on other things.

I tipped the makeup person when I was a bridesmaid. The bride and bridal party had separate artists. So we paid ours and gave a tip.

I've always tipped for both make up and hair as a bridesmaid.
