Dad going to meet FILs this weekend for first time...

Yay, that's so exciting and nervewracking at the same time! I am sure you will have a lovely time ... you've spoken about the FILs and your dad before and it sounds like everyone is great and very happy for you and FH ... so I think it'll be great!

I think overall it's good that your dad is outgoing... he will be able to bring some life into it.

FH parents and my mother couldn't be more different!

My mom is 47 and his parents are in their late 60's!!! My mom is 2 years older than FH oldest sister and actually they were in Mary Lewis at the same time (they didn't know eachother). So really when you think about it my mom is in his sister's generation and his parent's are closer to my grandmother's generation (she's 83). His parents are not 'young' either.. they look and act old and my mom is very 'young' in not only her age but also the way she is.

I hope everything goes super well for you and that they all get along great . I was super nervous when my FMIL met my mom for the first time but they got along great.
