dad vent...

my cousin is getting married in peru in july ... My parents are going to his wedding and have told everyone that me and fh will be there.

I love my cousin dearly we were raised together, we have so many great memories together! Unfortunately, we will not be able to go to his wedding....traveling, clothes, gifts will be about $1500-$2000 for fh and I... I rather send him $500 (which is good money in Peru) as a gift from me and fh.

my dad told me that fh and i were cheap and that the whole family will talk about us... everyone is going to his wedding...

i am really annoyed...my father is the one that drilled into our heads that if we wanted a big wedding, he would help but we needed to setup a budget for ourselves to pay for all other expenses...and now he gives me this crap?!?!?!??!!? i am so mad at him!!!!

i told him that i could care less what everyone thinks and that he should be agreeing w/me and instead of insulting me!

and to make matters worse...and not to sound like a bitc#...buti need to vent...
my cousin emailed me yesterday and told me that he will come to our wedding...ok he will come w/his wife but no gift.... so either way i lose $ ....

Would it be possible to go to his wedding and not give a gift? Going there would be your gift but it might save you guys some $.
