Actually my friend used to work at an Event Planning company that used to plan events for free as well.. they make a commission off the total event fee paid to a vendor. It's pretty typical in that business.
In fact, she brought me to a reception venue- that she had a relationship with the BM 9and where she also got married).. and she (the BM) offered to give her commission off her best friend's wedding!!! Since she brought me in.. Well, my wedding is not there, and my friend refused the idea of her making money off me.
