ok so FH and i have narrowed it down to 2 RH's and the only difference is the dance floor set up - so i just wanna hear from you ladies if it really makes a difference or not.
Place 1: is the normal dance floor in the middle and all the tables around the dance floor ( we tink this one is better cause everyone can see even if they're not dancing)
Place 2: Has ALL the guest tables to the left of the room- with the Dance floor on the right-
Do you think Place 2 with that dance floor set up would cause a probelm ie people not seeing- or does it not really matter?

Re: dance Floor position
My own personal opinion is that it flows better if the dance floor is in the middle. The people sitting way in the back might not be as motivated to get up and dance, plus they wont really be able to see your special dances.

I would want the dance floor in the middle. It's wear you have you first dance and it's also where the person giving any speech stands. The people in the back won't see a thing.

Re: dance Floor position
Personally, I prefer dance floor in the middle. We ruled out East wind because of the setup with guests on one side, then dance floor, then head table. I felt like I was in a classroom, rather than surrounded by our guests.

LOL you guessed what place is 'Place 2' yea i TOTALLY love it there but that whole set up just stinks.... and we werent sure if we were making it a bigger deal then it was- but it sounds like you all think like I do. Any brides out there had the the dance floor all the way to one side of the hall- can you tell me your experience please! good or bad

I think the flow works out better if the dance floor is in the middle. If you group everyone on one side its very clustered and busy.

Re: dance Floor position
i actually wouldnt really mind if the dance floor was off to one side ... you see my family is very conservative and is not really into dancing while my FH's family is! so i wouldnt mind having those people who wanted to dance on one side and those who didnt not bothered by the loud music or flashing lights!

Re: dance Floor position
I don't think it matters. I prefer in the middle but I've been to weddings that even with the dance floor in the middle I still couldnt' see anything.

Re: dance Floor position
This was the one thing that I worried about before booking but I was sooo in love with East Wind that I realized it really doesn't matter. If you've ever seen the room set up for an actual wedding, the dance floor doesn't seem that off centered. Now, a year later, I have no regrets and working with them has been a pleasure! Plus, I like how when me and FH want to sit down, we can watch our guests but be away from the chaos of the crowd!!

Re: dance Floor position
I would look at the other pros and cons of the places and not use the position of the dance floor as your primary factor unless you really feel like its a big deal. I prefer the table around the dance floor but really if I loved a place that didnt have it set up that way it wouldnt deter me. HTH!

Re: dance Floor position
I think I like it better with the dance floor in the center of the room, but I've never really given it much thought. I went to a wedding in the spring that had all the tables on one side of the dancefloor and it wasn't a problem at all. Everyone who wanted to dance got up to dance, and people stood up around the dancefloor to watch the special dances.

Re: dance Floor position
i like the dancefloor in the center. Most of the action takes place there and it allows equal views

Re: dance Floor position
I def. love the idea of it in the middle. I did go to one wedding where it was off to the side, and it just seemed less people danced, and it was far away from others. My RH has it in the middle...with my and FH table at the end of it. It'll be awesome! :)

I know it shoudlnt be the deal breaker- the 2 places are so different. Its between East Wind- which is gardens and so pretty- that has the dance floor all the way to the right. and then Harbour Club in Huntington- which is on the water- so totally different vibe- but the dance floor is in the middle. so FH and I were just wondeirng .... thanks for all your help ladies!!!!
