Just wondering if anyone has or is taking dance lessons prior to their wedding and can direct me.
I took lessons at a dance school a while back and remember it being very expensive but now with the wedding i dont have that much cash, I was gonna look into the local adult education programs but I'm having no luck...

Dance Lessons
I have the info at home for a women in Centereach that I spoke with. I will post in later tonight for you.
She was super nice on the phone and choregraphs a dance to your first dance song, plus reherses it with you at your hall for your last lesson. She was not too expensive either.
The adult ed. is great to learn general dance steps such as a waltz or fox trout but not good for putting the steps to your song.

Dance Lessons
Not cheap but sooo much fun! (Although my fiancee would disagree)
We are taking private lessons at Fred Astaire on Queens Blvd with Slavi. He is a great instructor and just a generally fun person to be around. (PS: We are the worst dancers!!)
We took a medium sized package: 6 private lessons and 4 group classes for $600 but we will probably be buying more once these lessons are up.

Dance Lessons
I called Arthur Murray and my moms going to buy me and FI lessons as a present. I dont remember how much it was but the person on the phone said that he thinks 2 private lessons would be enough if we just wanted to choregraph our first dance together.

Dance Lessons
We took dance lessons with Mary Ann at Steppin Out (in Massapequa?) She was so awesome people are still telling us what a great job we did on our first dance and we were clueless when we started. Mary Ann's number is 516-223-8131.

Hotel Calie....
Are you lessons 1 hour each?
Unless you are already comfortable solo dancing or plan on repeating a routine many time in your song - 2 hours is not enough to choreograph a dance.

Hotel Calie....agree with S-Stef
no way would 2 lessons be enough to learn the steps, practice, choreograph and practice...

We are taking lessons
Well, kind of, we didn't go this week...
But I registered us for it through our Adult Continuing Education program at one of the schools in Lindenhurst. It is $25 each for 8 lessons - every Monday from 7:30-9:30. We did the meringue and now the waltz and then something else. It's good for the basics, which is all we'll be doing at the wedding anyway!
I still don't know how I got him to agree to it, though! Good luck!

We are taking lessons
The first dance is not always the easiest because all eyes are on you. We are going to take lessons from Mary Scerbo 631-242-1796.
Although I think basic ballroom dancing is a great way for a couple to spend time together too.

Steppin Out
I can't remember how much she was but it was definitely reasonable for private lessons. I think she charged different amounts depending on if you just wanted to learn for your first dance (choreograph) or if you want to learn different dances in general. Definitely worth calling if you are in Farmingdale.

Dance lessons through Adult Ed.
I learned about the Adult Ed. program through the mail. They only send around books with available classes once in a while, so you might have better luck calling the schools around you and asking them if they know of any after-school activities like this one.
