Re: Dance Lessons

We went to Fred Astaire dance studios (now called Metropolitan Dance studios) over by Roosevelt Field Mall. I HIGHLY recommend them. We got so many compliments about our first dance. Even his parents, who are incredible dancers, said we were amazing. Every guest at our wedding talked about our first dance.

I think it's a great investment and something you'll use forever. I mean when we're spending this much money on the wedding, what's another couple of hundred to have a memorable first dance?

Re: Dance Lessons

My sister and BIL took dance lessons w/ my parents before their wedding seven years ago.. They had a blast and still talk about how good they were, and how bad it could have been if they didnt go. (My BIL cant dance for anything). I have been looking for lessons in Suffolk county, I found one place but they're REALLY expensive... I gotta ask my sister if the people she got the lessons from are still around... Good Luck!!

Re: Dance Lessons

I am glad someone posted about this, Fh and I tried to take lessons thru the local adult ed, and it was horrible- I had to take dramimne for being spun around for 2 hours, and the very old instructors yelled at us, becuase I did not know how to do a dance step, etc. I t was horrible, we quit, and now his mom wants to get us lessons thru a professional studio. Did anyone have fun doing there lessosn? Did u get dizzy? (I used to take dancing lessons till I was 18 and never experienced this. )

Has anyone heard of a new place in Huntington? I would also like to know what it cost for dance lessons.

Re: Dance Lessons

We had a lot of fun taking the lessons. I didn't get too dizzy, sometimes when we did the hustle I did get a little dizzy. But our instructor was amazing and he had a lot of patience.

I don't remember exactly how much we spent, but I think it was about $250 for the two of us for 2-45 minute private lessons and 3-90 minute group lessons.
