so FH got US dance lessons as part of my x-mas gift bc he knew how badly i wanted them but didnt want to spend the money.. well we have to start the first lesson by March and we're going tonight!!!! im so excited!!!
those of you that have gone, what should i expect the first day.. and what should i wear. LOL
ill report back to let you guys know how i liked it..

update*
ok we had SOOOO much fun!!!!!! if you have the time and the opportunity to take lessons together.. DO IT. we were both a little nervous that we would feel dumb and goofy but it was a fun! we were laughing the whole time and we actually learned stuff!!! we learned the waltz, rumba, cha cha, and i forget what else.. we're going back on tuesday and friday! i think we might make it a weekly thing it was so fun! i totally suggest going!

Oh man I wanna go just to make fun of Tom LoL... although at some point I'm sure Colleen will try and rope me into doing this... Plus from what I remember of TWOTY Tom likes to dance....

Jackie and i went for a lesson. it's not as bad as you think Brian. it was actually fun, and i learned a lot. we have a ton of gift cards for teh teacher as well. we should really start going soon. lol

Listen Danielle...Tom appears to be able to do the robot REALLY well, I dont think you guys need dance lessons...You can robot your way through your first dance!!
Have alot of fun, lets us know how it goes!! Try to wear a pair of heels, it will help to keep you up on your feet rather than flat footed...

I agree.. def wear heels. But i wouldn't wear them the first time. See how comfortable you are first. Then upgrade to heels

Oooooooooo fun! I'm trying to get FH to take lessons with me too!
Definitely wear heels and try to get FH to wear dress shoes. You want to practice in the same type (if not the exact same) shoes you'll be wearing the day of.

i agree. you can wear whatever you want the first time. just be comfortable.
no flip flops or slide in shoes tho!

tom got us a package. 4 private, 2 group and 2 parties. we thought that would be enough but we were told otherwise. we're not looking to do a choreographed dance, we just want to look like we know what we're doing. i would suggest that you take a few lessons closer to your wedding. (we had to start now bc we had to use our first lesson by march)
