I'm going to do a dance with my father at the reception and my FI will do one with his mother. My mom also mentioned to me that I should do one with my grandfather who is 97 years old and would love to have a special dance with me. I would love to have one with him as well, but I feel like it's too many dances for people to stand around and watch. Any suggestions on how to condense it?

Re: Dances
Don't do a separate song for each. Start with you and your father, have your groom and his mom join half way through song. Announce your grandfather as the start of the next song, and after a minute open the dance floor for everyone to join you. So 3 special dances in just 1.5 songs!

Re: Dances
Don't let the songs play all the way through, you could cut them a little short, or maybe...don't do them back to back, do you/dad and then FH/mom and a litttle latter in the night dance with you're grandfather.

Re: Dances
I would share songs. That is what my fiance and I will do, I will dance with my father and he with his mother. I'm also thinking of having the anniversary dance at some point but not right after...
I have sat through weddings were you watch the bride and groom dance with everyone and it is really boring...

Re: Dances
I did the mother-son and father daugher as usual. Then later in the night (three in a row would be too much), I danced with my mom. Midway thru the song, we asked people to join us and ask someone who is important to them to dance with us.
We danced to Wind Beneath My Wings..midway thru we grabbed my grandma (this is my mom's song to her as well). It was really special because little by little our threesome grew to all my grandma's 4 kids, my dad, my brother and some first cousins...we all dedicated it to our grandma. She was so sick before my wedding she barely made it to the wedding. I tear up everytime I watch it!
