Dani, I love it, I think I am going to do that too. Maggie uses heavy fabric & I am afraid the other kind of bustles with the buttons sewn on the outside will not hold the weight of the train (mine is very very long.)

Did you get buttons, hooks, snaps or ties?

My seamstress put ties---9 I think---and they are numbered and it's pretty easy to bustle, you just match #1 to #1, etc...
