Re: dante zeller

My husband and his GM/the dads got their tuxes from DZ because everyone we know (including hubby) has had terrible experiences at Men's Wearhouse. Unfortunately Dante Zeller wasn't much better! The manager at the LI store was a yapping moron (she's nice, but not so bright), and it took forever for my husband to get measured. They also screwed up a number of our call-in orders (we had 3 guys from out of state/country), but in the end we got the tuxes we wanted and the guys looked great. It was a lot of unnecessary aggravation though.

If possible, I would go through the stores in Manhattan - they're considerably more reliable.

We just went into the DZ on 23rd street in the city. They were very nice and accommodating - they're bringing different styles in FH size to go try in on about a week. I also heard bad stuff about men's warehouse. plus, they dont' have any rental tuxes in store for FH to try on.

We're going to get everything delivered to the DZ LI shop as that's where the wedding will be - hopefully this won't be a problem!!

We used them and were very pleased!! We used the one in Queens on Queens Blvd though. They were the few places that had the chocolate brown tux I wanted and I had seen a few complaints w/ MW on LIW.

The people there were quick efficient and knowledgeable. We also had some tux drama, two of our GM's fault not theirs. One called in their measurments into a Brooklyn store and the other never put their deposit in We found this out two days to the wedding and they were able to fix it to the best of their abilities w/ the time constraints.

fh went there for his cousin's wedding last year at the Westbury location - they were helpful but very expensive - Using men's warehouse for our wedding and for several other friends weddings in the past - less than half the price and they were very helpful !!

Wow, they looked really nice. I was a little worried because my girls are wearing chocolate brown too and I didnt want it to look stupid. What color tux did DH wear? I am still undecided, I think FH is going to wear black and white and the GM the brown. I hope I have luck finding it. Was it very expensive?

DH is the big sexy one in the white vest and tie. The color is dark so its not screaming 'brown'. I think it will look nice w/ the brown dresses but black will be fine also. My girls wore champagne w/ chocolate brown sashes. Here's a pic of the entire bridal party.

The pricing I feel was on par w/ a lot of tux shops...about 180 total.

Zeller in Brooklyn and NYC isn't much better.

FH was in a wedding who used them. The price was different from one groomsman to another and they used horrible excuses as to why.

They made FH and 2 others wait until the day before the wedding to get them and when we got there we had to wait another 2 hours to pick up their tuxes. When they finally gave them the tuxes they said they couldnt try them on b/c they were closing!

The guys (by guys I mean myself and another GM's wife) fought to have them try them on and thank goodnes they did. 2 of them had the wrong vests. 1 pants was too short. FH has no buttons or cufflinks, no tie and the wrong size shoes.

Mind you they were all done with their measurements 10 weeks before!!!

I always tell guys to steer clear of them

Thats not a bad price at all, I just dont want all the GM to want to kill me

My girls are wearing this dress and I was thinking of doing that tux for the guys and DH in black and white so he will really stand out and be different. What do you think?

Personally, I would do either the brown or the black and not a combo, then make Dh stand out in a different tie, vest & bout. But that's probably due to the fact I don't like brown and black together but many do. Love the dress btw

Thanks I am not really a fan of black and brown together but I thought it might be ok. I guess I will have to wait and see how it looks in person when he tries it on. I just dont know because if I get the brown tuxes for the guys it might look too boring in pictures everything being brown. Was it hard to find a place that carried this tux?
