All of a sudden I am having major anxiety about our wedding date!! We are getting married on July 3, 2012 which is a Tuesday. I really wanted a night time wedding in the summer and price wise, it was going to be rough for us to afford. We considered doing a day wedding, but personally I just really wanted a night time wedding. So we ended up doing July 3 because most people are off on July 4, so we felt like it would be similar to a Friday night wedding and we were able to do a Thursday night price. At the time I thought it was a great idea and the family/friends who I had asked at the time thought it was a good idea too. Now, I just worry because I am starting to think its so weird its a Tuesday. I'm really having doubts. :(

Re: Date Anxiety
I don't think its weird at all. I think you do what you can afford and the people who love you will be there for your wedding whether its a Tuesday night or a Friday night. I'm think about a Friday night in March and I am slightly concerned about people showing up to the actual ceremony but I figure as long as my FH is up there waiting for me and my parents and sisters are watching I don't really care about the others. Its your day you do what you want and what you can afford

Re: Date Anxiety
Aw Donna don't worry! I still think its a great idea.
If you picked next Tuesday as your date I'd be a little concerned, but those who care about you would STILL be there.
Like SJR said, its not just a tuesday, it's like a Fri or Sat night because its the night before a holiday. And not a family holiday where everyone is traveling, its a party holiday, so that makes it all the better.

Re: Date Anxiety
july 4th is a holiday, most people will have off, so it shouldn't be a problem at all!
Just send your STD's out early so anyone planning to go away knows your wedding is that weekend!

My words exactly. My wedding is on a a Friday night in September and I'm almost positive that not everyone will come to the Church. Do whatever will make you happy and give you the wedding of your dreams.
Also, if this helps put your mind to ease, FH's friend had his wedding on Thanksgiving Eve (Wednesday before Thanksgiving) and they had almost 300people at their reception!

A friend of mine went to her cousin's wedding this past summer and it was on a Monday night in August and they had all there family and friends there. It just goes to show that the people that love you the most will show up no matter what day you have your wedding.

Re: Date Anxiety
I had major major date anxiety about picking my wedding date. i wanted a night time wedding, friday or saturday--i settled for a sunday because of the gurentee minimum. then i didnt want sunday because i wanted people to enjoy it..i picked memorial day sunday because people have off monday..then i heard stuff from people about that being bad because people go away monday! I have decided. i will send my save the dates in August/September and stay calm because if people want to be there they will be there
SAME GOES For YOUR wedding..most people are off july 4th so they will come to your wedding on a tuesday night..hey who doesnt love a reason to party on a weekday! Smile, girl, its your day, it took me a while to get here, but with the help of many LIWedding girls i realized, people will always have something to say, :)
