date change update

so unfortuntely June 3, 07 has been put on hold by another couple so we might not get that date and it costs another 10 pp to have it in June 07.
wow 07 prices are a lot higher than 06.
Anyways we chose May 20 th for now and our BM said he would call if the couple cancels the june 3rd thats on hold he'd give us a call, but at extra cost pp I doubt we'd switch.

So I was happy about May 20th and then my mom said someone told her an old Ukranian superstition of how getting married in May means there will be struggle in the relationship. (i don't know if its love wise or financial) I'm hoping this isn't true, but I started getting upset. sigh. Sorry for all the May brides out there, I'm not trying to ruin your date.

I am really sorry that you are dealing with this difficult date issue. But if it is any consolation, my parents got married in May and their marriage lasted for 49 years til we lost Dad. May is one of themost popular months for marriages. Your obvious devotion to each other will keep you guys married forever. Don't worry.

thank you Leslie you made me feel a lot better. I'm going to hope for the best and thats its a crazy superstition. And I've lready been upset long enough with all this postponing stuff, its time to be happy again. I love FH more than anything and I know everything will be alright.

Please don't let superstitions bother you. I know quite a few people who have May anniversaries and they are all happy and have been blessed with beautiful families. If you and your husband love each other, that is all that matters.

may 20 is my date!! i wouldn't worry about the superstition as my fiance is ukrainain and his grandparents and parents had nothing to say about having the wedding in May!!

They were nothing but excited about the date. And they are ukrainian through and through. (off the boat) Fi is 1st generation.

Don't worry about that superstition. May 20th is a great date if I must say so myself!

Oh, and the saying goes, 'for those getting married in May, you will surely rue the day'

there is a saying for each month. Don't think anything about it.

My grandparents saw each other before their wedding and had 60 years of wedded bliss before my grandfather passed away.

don't they say if you see each other before the ceremony you are doomed too?

and also if it rains it's good luck, so I supposed all those brides with nothing but sunshine have bad luck?!

It is only words. probably some mother said it because she didn't want her daughter getting married during the month because she always envisioned another time for her daughter to get married!!! (isn't may harvest or planting season) they were prob afraid of losing a worker on the field!!
