Hi all, I'm getting married at a place with a limit of 125 (want to keep things intimate) and like I'm sure many people with limited funds and room are doing, I'm not inviting my single guests with an 'and guest,' though will invite those who are engaged, living together and people regarded as couples.
My MOH keeps mentioning having a date, and I'm unsure if it's OK to let members of the BP bring a date while not letting others do the same. On one hand, they are a special part of the party. On the other hand, won't the date be sort of lost in the shuffle while we're all getting ready for the wedding? (Ceremony and reception will be about an hour or so from where most of the BP lives and we were planning on staying out there).
What do you think? Has anyone been in the same position?

Re: Dates for members of the BP?
I think for the wedding party, it's an all or nothing issue. I don't think you can invite one BM with a date, and another without. If I was single and part of a bridal party and invited w/o a date, I would be offended.
Your BP are usually your closest friends/relatives. In my experience, if they're not in a relationship, it's unlikely they will invite someone who would feel lost in the shuffle at your wedding.
This is just my opinion. Good luck!

I totally agree. Your BP should be entitled to bring a date if they want to. This is your BP and they are the people that mean the most to you.

Re: Dates for members of the BP?
Personally I think if they are spending all this money to be in your BP then they deserve to have the option of bring a date. Some of them might go solo just cause payign for a date might be too much, but i know id be ticked if i spent 2-300 dollars on a dress and wasn't allowed to bring a date to my friends wedding. I'm one of those people who thinks you always invite a guest with a date...but thats just me. I would rather pick a cheaper place and be able to give my friends and family the option of bringing someone...cause if you've ever been to a wedding alone (especially if you dont know anyone) it *****!

they should all be allowed to bring dates. Alot of the time if they are not seeing someone, they won't bring anyone - but the option should be there.
